Can you translate this note from surgeon?
I asked my original surgeon for the amount of bypassed intestine and this is what he said:
You have a 150 cm roux limb and also a 150 cm bypassed segment of the proximal small bowel (biliopancreatic conduit). You do have a large amount of common conduit (non-bypassed segment of small intestine) remaining.
Does this mean I didn't have much intestine bypassed? Is this proximal? Any thoughts? Thanks!!! :-)

With so few true distal long limb RNY bypasses being done anymore, the nomenclature for what is what may have changed in common usage now. That said, I have always thought of a 150 cm roux limb as being a medial bypass as defined approximately between ~120 cm to ~ 160 cm.
I'd be delighted to be corrected if I am mistaken.
