My doctors appt. today
Monique, You are lucky that the nutritionist you have is that flexible and reasonable. The nutritionist I have has no flexibility. I think a lot of it has to do with that every patient is required to see her before insurance is submitted and before surgery. So she knows that the patients are at her mercy and we don't have a choice of going somewhere else.
I disagree with your surgeon. My surgeon, Dr. Clifford Deveney, did a MGB-to-VSG revision on a local who was malabsorbing to the point that she weighed only 88# and was near death at the time of the revision shortly after Thanksgiving last year. He completely took down her MGB and built up a vertical sleeve stomach. She had a very rough recovery period, but she is now back to work full time. Oh yes, she has put on a lot of weight and was about 115# last I heard. Her goal is 120# and she is 5'4". The problem with going to Dr. Deveney may be that he is in Portland, OR, and that's clear across the country from you. Are you willing to travel to Portland? There are direct flights from Atlanta to Portland and back, if you're interested. If you do decide to see Dr. Deveney after all, then he may want to review your MGB surgery reports before he will do a revision. Hope this helps!
