heard rumor about insurance and post problems

I have federal blue cross blue shield and I heard a rumor (don't know if it is true that is why I am posting).  If you have gastric bypass and say 5 years down the road you have an intestinal infection or problem and if it can be linked to the weight loss surgery then insurance will not pay.  Has anyone ever heard this?  If you know of a situation like this please share.

I don't know about that specific company, but if insurance tries to deny you care that is critical to your health and well-being, you should sue them.

My current insurance company tried to do that.  I had issues that were only going to get worse, though they were not currently life-threatening.  They approved me.

If you have had continuous healthcare coverage with no lapses, they'd be stupid to try to deny you care for an infection or other serious complications.  But you may have to retain a lawyer in the event they decide to be jerks about it.
