I went to to the group for the first time last night. Wow so many people. They had a plastic surgeon their talking about different things they can do after surgery. They are friendly folks and seems to be from all different stages. I look forward to seeing you at the meetings! :)

I called Dr Ohs office. What was his criteria for doing your RosE procedure?I guess my insurance may cover a revision or part of the RosE proceedure. I just have to be approved by Dr. Oh. If that doesn't work I'm thinking about calling Dr. S in arizona and talking to them. Its so difficult to know where to begin with everything.I guess Dr. Oh decides whether or not he want s to see you to address this. Thats why I was curious about what you had to do to get to see him.

How did the Rose thing go?  I am scheduled for my endoscope on wednesday, and am part of the trial for the rose procedure and am wondering what tests people had done beforehand and what kind of diet they went home on...lol.

Not too bad. Im scared of surgery so other than getting myself wound up pretty uneventful. Dr OH is fantastic and professional as all get out! The recovery time was like one day. No pain other than throat pain to speak of. I hope your scope goes well :)

Could you please email me at my email address-jzwife@hotmail . I have some questions to ask you about Dr. Oh. I did contact his office but need some information that maybe you can help me with about his proceedures and what you had to do to get to see him. Thanks Sharon

Sharon that makes perfect sense and I'm sure that you heard right.  Because this procedure is so new, there are clinical specialists from the company (Endoscopic Solutions) that usually come when a MD is starting to do this.  I don't know how many times they proctor the MD doing the procedure, but they were there when I had mine and I was Dr. Shikora's 2nd. The first was my friend and I was done just after her on the same day.  Read my post on "Anyone who had Stomaphyx and is 3 months out".  I read and respond to all kinds of topics so you'll find me all over the place. I wish you the best...keep posting!!!! Sue

I read your post and wish you good luck.  I had lapband but wish this was available then.  I cannot eat challah and struggle with chicken.  Will you be able to eat bread and rice soon? Be well. Fran

I don't think bread or rice is in my near future!!  All I've been eating is protein and some fat (lite mayo).  I'm on this for at least the next 3 weeks as my next post op appointment is 3/20.  I can easily eat chicken salad or grilled chicken, salmon, shrimp etc.  I tried meatloaf and still tasted it the next morning.  I'm going to try hamburger and see if I can tolerate that.  The other woman who had stomaphyx right ahead of me has more restriction than I do and I'm really not sure why.
