Does anyone know what your BMI must be for revision?

I know, that is crazy.  I wonder if the surgeon would still do it if you offered to pay him up front instead of using insurance......I wonder if that would make a difference?

In my experience, more surgeons are open to doing revisions on lower BMIs if you're self-pay.  BUT, they may tweak the operation depending on your current BMI.  For example, I know a few Bandsters who got revised to a VSG when their Band slipped or eroded.  Because they were at or near goal, the surgeon made the sleeve slightly larger than s/he would if the person had a BMI of 40+.

Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin.  I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby.  5 years out from revision to VSG.  Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
