Severe pain after eating too much??

Hi.  Newbie to the boards here but had open RNY back in June 2002.  200 + lb. weight loss but have since regained ~100 lbs!  YIKES.   Here's my question.  This is the third time in the past year or so that I've had this happen:  I overeat, or eat too fast, too big of a bite, etc, and end up with severe pain in my right upper quadrant.  I get severe pain, bloating, gas pain, etc.  The other night, I almost went to the hospital but the pain finally let up after about 2 hours or so.   I called my bariatric surgeon the following day and he suggested an upper GI.  He mentioned a possible staple line breakdown.  I will have the upper GI within a week or so.   Has anybody had this problem...the pain and bloating, etc?  What was it?  I'm actually afraid to eat anything!!!  This could be very good for weight loss.  LOL.  Thanks in advance!
