I had an upper gi due to pain anyone know if this is normal? very small gastric remnant, with rapid emptying into the small intestines.  The proximal small bowel is distesible, but fold pattern is maintained. Should it be a rapid emptying?  My interpt is that my small bowel is acting as a second stomach?  Any ideas would be helpful.  My surgeon isn't in his office til next week and his wouldn't tell me if it was normal or not.   Kourtney

No, you should not be having rapid emptying into your small intestines.  I also had this (are you hungry every 2 hours or less)

Mine was caused by stoma enlargment.

I had a revision in 06 from RNY to DS.  Read my profile if you'd like to know more.

Good luck hon.  It really sucks.

I have rapid emptying  also and mine is caused by enlarged stoma.  Every time I eat, I hurt.  I am looking to get this corrected but insurance loops are literally killing me.
