Topic: RE: Help guys...Trying to get back on track!!!!

Wow! As I'm reading your post I had to pinch myself to make sure it wasn't ME actually writing it

Your story and situation hit extremely close to home as I had my RNY in 2009, Maintained my weightloss + loss an addl amount thru diet & exercise, bust then Pandemic hit. I then had long term COVID witch set me back and did ugly things to my body as well back in 2021. Now I have gained about 45 pounds turned the corner to that big 60 and nothing is the same anymore.

I have Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, Cervical Stenosis just to name a few things that cause daily Chronic Pain! I am not a Pill taker at all... I opt for the natural resources and just push through best as I can!! My Weight GAIN is hurting me

My taste for food is gone since COVID so the struggle to eat the right foods is tough... I don't like many things anymore! The fatigue gets me so the enjoyment of cooking is now gone.

I do stay active and garden, play sports (when body allows), enjoy time in pool) so I don't just give in...BUT THE SCALE never moves down. My POUCH still lets me know when its upset...I do DUMP and throw up often from over eating/drinking too much or too sweet!!

I have no Dr's in this area that run the blood level test for vitamins & minerals...this has been a problem since my RNY was done.

To Everyone struggling to get back on track...I'm with you on this difficult journey! Good Luck, Stay Positive

Topic: RE: Hair Loss 10 yrs after RNY...

Thank you to everyone who has responded to my scenario ! I really appreciate itð?'? After reading and researching the info you've sent I truly believe y'all are absolutely correct here... I'm dealing with Telogen effluvium!! After loosing the rapid addl 40 lbs, change of diet due to digestive issues ( probably not getting enough protein ?), and my Endo had to reduce my Levothyroxine dosage too. It was when she reduce that dosage that I really noticed the change in hair loss BUT I understand her reasoning of not wanting to keep it suppressed as it could cause damage to organs & etc. Now I need to know where, how to fix all this??? I need in depth labs done to check my vitamins & nutrients... what would y'all recommend I request her to run??? TIA

Wow... good info! Now I need to understand how to fix this issue and start healing and regrowth! Is there natural organic ways to help this process ? I don't want Meds nor topical creams , nothing that would cause more issues in gut area which is where it all begins as well!!

thnx a bunch

Oh my ... well I pray she gets healthy and the support she needs ASAP ?? Yes, I'm thinking loosing these 40 # recently so quickly and not getting the right help to adjust vitamins/minerals adequately is HURTING ME. Really wish I could find someone who would run the appropriate labs needed and help with adjustments to figure the root cause of all this as I know the stress isn't helping ... thnx for responding ð?'?

Ty ... yes I'm aware on this topic as it's always been a thorn ? my WLS doesn't feel our numbers must be as high as those recommended therefore it's never been higher than 40-50. My ferritin was at a 5 at one point and finally found a hematologist to help me with iron transfusions to get it up to at least 47 ... which is where I'm pretty much at now.

My 10 yr Anniversary is this November ð?'?ð?'ª?ð?'?But for the past 6 mnths or so I've been fighting hair loss once again, and this time it's not letting up!!! It's a great concern on both sides of my hair ? My hairstylist is worried too now as she can see my scalp and the amount of hair after a washing ? Anyone else been through this ? IF so I'd like your thoughts, suggestions etc. Within this year I've had to make some diet changes and I've gone paleo , GF due to digestive issues so by making these changes I've lost more weight... about another 40 lbs. Like most of y'all who have had the RNY gastric bypass , I deal with malnutrition issues & absorption issues. All my Drs ... PCP, WLS say my labs are good BUT around here they do not believe in the in depth lab testing at all! I asked for vitamin & minerals to be checked yesterday & was told there's no reason ?

well thanks for listening !!!! Have a blessed day ?

Topic: RE: PROBIOTICS...

Ty for all this great info!

Yes, I've been on the Leaky Gut journey for past two months and feeling better but the probiotics I've been taking are the SBO's which I'm now understanding are the worst kind for us RNY Gastric Bypass peeps due to the bacteria growth issues in the small intestine area. Also I have no gall bladder either. I'm now understanding I should be taking a Probiotic that has a minimum of 7 strains and at least 50 billion cfu strength as well as kept refrigerated... This is my reason for asking what some of you others might be taking and find to be the BEST Brands our tgere.

Again ty for your response and help ... I hope you find healing too ð?'

Thank you for your response... I have been placed on several iron pills thru the past years that were given to me by Endocrinologist and these caused major stomach issues. My WLS surgeon put me on a pill that he said is the only one we can absorb. However, I have IBS already so anything that adds to constipation issue will fold me over Ughhh...

Topic: RE: Still fighting low Ferritin levels....

I am ISO yall thoughts on dealing with Low Ferritin Levels. I am 9 years post op from my Gastric Bypass RNY, and to this day my ferritin continues to drop. The Hematologist did labs and Ferritin is at a 7 I continue to deal with many of my medical issues as I have Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, PTTD, Osteoporosis & Post Menopause so I DO NOT know if this low Ferritin level is why i feel sooo bad each day!!!! I am not taking any Hormone replacement either and that may be some of the issue as well...IDK

So, IF anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it!

TIA

Carrie

Topic: RE: Anyone tried Thrive?

No ma'am that is NOT the case at all!!! I asked the Question but started my experience at the same time. To be exact I started the product 18 days ago! After my husband saw how well myself and many others were doing he jumped on as well!

Please know the truth before just bashing someone! I have no intention of pushing the product on here period!

I have been a member here for 6.5 years and look for advice input etc...I was simply asking a QUESTION !!!

Thanks for your thought Melinda.  I have been on my THRIVE journey for a few weeks now and I am so very blessed to have found this AMAZING Product!  I was skeptical myself but after seeing how it has helped me in just a short time I am very Thankful!!!  My husband is now on it as well, and is now a Promoter.

Thanks again!!

Thanks for your response Kristin :)

I took the plunge a few weeks ago and started my THRIVE after I was diagnosed with Neuropathy on top of other things!  This product is AMAZING, and I'm sooo very thankful I gave it a try. My pain is 100% better and I can now do things that I absolutely couldn't a month ago.  My husband is doing it also, and has signed on as a Promoter as well.

Thanks again :)

Topic: RE: over 3 years and still throwing up

I'm soo sorry you are going through this, and I wish I could say it will stop.  I am 6.5 years out and still have this issue!!  I have trouble with eggs, chicken, pork, steak, milk, & sugar-free products. Big Meals with protein kick my tail!! I've had this issue since day one, they even went in one month out to stretch my pouch a little cuz I could not even keep water in.  Mal-absorption is a big issue too.

I hope things get better for you, don't give up keep fighting...God Bless!!

I am wondering if any of my fellow gastric bypass friends have tried the Le-Vel Thrive yet?  I am considering giving it a go as I'm told that it is 100% natural, and there are many WLS people using it.  I would greatly appreciate any input on this subject
