That's med she prescribed. I'm on the 150 mg XR right now. I go back in 6 weeks.

My primary doctor prescribed an extended release medication for me. I told her that due to my RNY WLS that extended release medication are not recommended. She looked it up on the computer and said that it would be fine. Have things changed or am I remembering things wrong from my WLS classes?

I remember you! Welcome back. I'm glad to see that you're doing well. I highly recommend the proferrin iron also.

Good morning and happy Monday! I haven't posted in a while, but I know that I need to for accountability.
We had a wonderful and busy weekend. My daughter and I had a garage sale on Friday. We met so many nice people and made around $300. My son flew home from Georgia. He has been away for military training. It was nice to have both of my kids and granddogs home.
QOTD- I would say savory and sweet both. Carbs have always been my downfall. I loved all the salty, cheesy and crunchy things. I can't have cheeze its in the my house or sourdough bread. I have zero willpower.
Accountability- Not enough water and too many White Claws. I have been gaining and losing the same 5 lbs for the past few months and I know that I need to not drink. I am going to be 50 in 2 months and I want to be my best. So, I have decided to take a break from drinking. I am going to talk to my counselor about it when I see her Tuesday and get a plan moving forward.
Food plan for today-
Eggs and cottage cheese
chicken inside a low carb wrap, laughing cow cheese, lettuce and dill pickle
tri tip, broccoli, tomatoes from the garden
protein jello
Vitamins and lots of water

Chrissy,
Sending you and your family love and a big hug today.

Good morning and happy Wednesday. It's a blustery day in the PNW. I woke up this morning feeling puffy and the scale is up 2 pounds. The only thing that I can attribute it to is that work was very busy and I did not drink enough water. I am really going to push lots of fluids today.
QOTD- I also keep forgetting to buy a ticket! If I ever did win, I would want to remain anonymous and just randomly bless people.
Food for today-
Bloom super greens with miralax
salted caramel protein shake with cold brew
tuna salad with boiled
Cod and roasted sheet vegetables
maybe a boiled egg or chomps.
Lots of water and hot tea
Goals for today- push fluids, vitamins, no wine and elliptical

Chrissy,

Good morning everyone. We had a wonderful weekend. The kids came home. I always love our time together. My husband and I raised two beautiful and kind humans. They truly make this world a better place.
I'm looking forward to a great week. I am really trying to be mindful of my diet and exercise. It's supposed to rain this week, so I'll be exercising inside or at the pool.
Accountability- A little too much snacking on Saturday while we were at a running event.
QOTD- Camping! When the kids were young, we camped a lot. It's so much work and everything is dirty when you get home. I don't like bugs and I am not a fan of sleeping in a tent. I am a bit fearful of wild animals. So, I'll stick to hotels and my wonderful bed at home.
Food plan for today-
B- Quest salted caramel protein shake with coldbrew
L- Tuna, boiled egg, onion, celery, skinny girl poppy seed dressing over lettuce
D- chicken, broccoli
S- cottage cheese, quest cheddar crackers
Exercise- walk this morning before the rain and arm workout with weights at home
Lots of water, vitamins and no wine. I keep forgetting my second dose of calcium citrate. I wish there was an option for 1 dose a day. I use Unjury vitamins. Any suggestions?

Melody,
I hope things get better with your mom. I work with seniors and once they get an idea in their head, it's hard for them to change.

Good morning and happy Sunday. I posted last Monday that I was going to post more and then the cord on my laptop shorted out and I had to buy a new one. I am back in business now!
QOTD- I am not going to be sad today! My son is headed back to his base. He came home Friday with a friend that ran a race. My daughter and son in law came home too. It was a great weekend. I always feel sad when they leave and it takes me a day or two to get my bearings.
I am really going to be super focused with diet and exercise this week. I haven't lost anything the past 3 weeks.
Food for Today-
- I will resist the Rhubarb Raspberry pie that is in the fridge. I am going to throw it away after the kids leave.
Protein shake with cold brew
chicken sausage with cabbage and peppers
Cod and or chicken. I have them both in the fridge that needs to be cooked
Not sure what else.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone and happy October. I am going to try and post more. I need to make time for this. I need the accountability! I have started working with an internist that specializes in weight management. I am working on tackling my regain. I lost 6 lbs last month. I was happy with that and so was she. I am working on behavior modification. It's nothing new or exciting. It's stuff that I already know, but it's nice to have the accounability and support.
I feel like the past few years have been hard mentally and emotionally for me. I feel like I have just been existing. I want to thrive and find me again if that makes any sense. I have been feeling a bit lost.
QOTD- I think I would take a nap! I am not sure if its a mom thing, hormones or overthinking about all the things, but my sleep has not been good.
Food plan for today-
Quest salted protein shake with cold brew
scrambled egg, 1/4 cup Trader Joes light motz in my chaffle maker. ( Its my new favorite bread substitute)
Shredded chicken with lots of hot sauce
Mahi mahi burger with shredded lettuce, tomato and tzatziki
Goals for today- Exercise, water, vitamins, and no wine or whine! LOL
Have a great day everyone and be kind.
Rosie :)

Mike,
Curious to see how this med works for you. My doctor has suggested it, but I am still undecided.

Good morning Melody and happy Sunday. I am up early. My husband was snoring, the dog was snoring and the cat wanted food.
We are headed out for a walk this morning. The baby geese have hatched. I love walking down by the water and watching them.
QOTD- I enjoy sleeping with my big window open so I can hear the creek in the backyard, ceiling fan on and my dog on her bed next to my side of the bed.
Melody- I love to make a bruchetta topping and put it over my chicken. I dice tomatoes, red onion, shredded parmesan cheese, salt, and add my balsamic glaze to it. It's very tasty. I have also seen grilled peaches with balsamic but have never tried it.
Food for today-
Chike protein coffee
Egg bites
leftover ribeye
Smoked chicken, side salad with olive garden light italian
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday. I have a hard time getting on here to post during the week. We are headed to my daughters today to help build her a pergola in her backyard.
I was able to get 2 iron infusions, each a week apart. When I went to my first one, my ferritin was at a 5, so much needed. My doctor said it takes about 2 weeks to kick in.
Melody- I am so sorry your appointments were canceled. I hope that they can get you rescheduled soon. I also hope a nap is in your plans for today.
QOTD- I am not really a fan of modern music. I like the 80's and mellow stuff like James Tayor and Neil Young.
Food today-
Egg White egg bites
Protein shake with coldbrew
2 Chicken skewers from the Gyro restuarant
Rib eye, broccolini
Not sure what else is on the menu.
I am thinking of trying IF. I need to do something to switch it up.
Have a great day everyone!

I'm thankful that you have answers, but sorry that you're having to deal with this.

Trish,
Your chocolate protein mousse sounds delicious. Sorry about the raccoon in your attic. They can be mean, so please be careful. When we first bought our house, we heard scratching on the floorboards under our house. We discovered we had a possum living in our crawlspace. We baited a live animal trap and trapped him and let him go up by the dump.

Good morning everyone. I am up way too early. I saw QJB's comment about coffee being so good and I decided to get up and make some.
I had a very successful day with my WLS dr yesterday. Iron infusion is ordered and also abdominal CT scan. I have been dealing with random left side pain for a while. It's not my colon and not gyno. I am glad that she listened to me and is taking my concerns seriously. I was also 5 lbs less than I was in August. She wants me to keep my calories between 1000-1200 and 60-80 protein. I am feeling motivated and determined to lose 30 lbs.
My son was home for 6 days. He brought Coast Guard friends with him. They ran a 50K trail run. It was so much fun cheering them on with my cowbell at all the stations. I almost cried when he crossed the finish line. Those races are full of emotions. I had some great talks with my son. He really encourages me to push myself and step out of my comfort zone. I feel like the past few years I have been feeling a bit lost. I need to find myself again. How do I do that? Being an empty nester has been hard.
QOTD- I also have never tweeted and I don't twerk. I don't do much on social media. I have a fb, but don't really post. I don't Tik Tok, snapchat or instagram either.
Food plan for today-
2 boiled eggs
cold brew with protein shake ( I forgot how good this was)
shredded chicken with pico
baked cod, asparagus
My menu may change. I am going to weigh, measure and log everything. I am getting back to basics.
Walk tonight with my hubby and the dog.
I take Unjury vitamins. Multi, vit D3, B complex and calicum citrate
on 4/6/23 3:47 am
Melody,
Have you ever tried Proferrin iron?? It's highly absorbable and no GI effects. It's good stuff!!
on 3/24/23 6:03 am
Kelly,
I hope today is better for you. I had one of those days on Tuesday. I had a moment when I said to myself, I don't want to do this job anymore! I came home and had a cry and a nap.
on 3/21/23 5:48 am
Good morning everyone. I did not sleep well last night. Lots of weird dreams and a quiet house since my DH is out of town this week.
QJB- This meme made me LOL. I did have a senior couple come in last week that was new to our area. They asked if we had vegan options. I was like, this is a $6 senior luncheon. We don't have options.
I had yearly bloodwork done yesterday. My ferritin is a 7. I have been having a lot of inflammation in my hands and arms. My joints are swollen and sore. It all makes sense to why I have been so exhausted, brain fog. I am going to reach out to my WLS doctor. She didn't seem too concerned about it last year when my ferritin was a 14 because normal range is 10-300. I want an iron transfusion. I need to advocate for myself.
QOTD- Caffeine is the answer for today! I just got to get through the day.
Accountability- Skinny Pop. I bought the big bag that's on ad at Costco. It's going in the garbage today. It just goes down way too easy.
Food plan for today-
egg bites
protein shake
Shredded chicken with green salsa
Maybe corned beef
Have a great day everyone
on 3/21/23 5:06 am
Mike,
I am an all or nothing gal too! I cannot have chips or crackers in my house. I hope you have a wonderful vacation.
