Good Morning Menuers sorry I've been MIA. I had some unexpected family stuff come up during the holidays that I needed to take care of and then when I came back to work one of the boilers was off-line due to blown boiler tubes which turned into three days of down time and people not following protocol when a new year starts with contractors coming on site. Things are hopefully back to normal now.
I am going to do my best to commit to M-F starting of the menu thread until at least Spring gets here. I know many of us here look forward to it and with the new year here I know it helps to get us moving in the right direction.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. On 12/28 I celebrated my 50th birthday and my 15th work anniversary. Didn't really do anything because of things going on, but I plan on making up for it this Summer.
Last Saturday I went with my mom and two of my sisters to an Elvis birthday celebration at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA. My mom loves Elvis and the guy who was impersonating him did a great job we had a lot of fun.
QOTD: What are you plans for 2025? I have so many different things planned that I have to make a list and decide what to do first. One thing we did do is get rabbits for the farm. Took a ride to NH on Sunday to get Silver Fox and Creme D'Argent meat rabbits. They will be our breeding pairs.
B: 2 eggs with cheese and 3oz ham
L: 1/2 cup cottage cheese and bok choy soup
D: chicken thighs with bacon and kale
S: cucumbers and celery with hummus
30 minutes on the treadmill
On a side note both my husband and I agreed to not drink any type of alcohol (really only drink wine) as of January 1st. I have lost 7lbs since the 1st and his morning blood sugar has gone from 165 to 106. Absolutely crazy that not having a couple of glass of wine at night can make such a huge impact on weight loss and blood sugar.
I've also gotten back to really measuring out what I can for foods.
Have a great day!!!!
Happy Birthday. Hope you feel a lot better soon.

QOTD- I usually do a half a tuna sandwich on Dave's Killer Bread. I also discovered some tuna pouches lemon pepper, and deli tuna salad 90, & 80 calories with a ton of protein the lemon pepper I just eat out of the pouch, no bread required.
I hurt my back on Christmas eve and haven't truly worked since. I can barely walk, I tried to move a yard debris bin from the street back up to the side of the house. Uphill and the bin weighed more than I do, so I woke up in the morning in excruciating pain. Then when it was starting to feel better I fell on my butt, I was untangling the electric blanket cord from my recliner and lost my balance. So now it hurts even worse. Sitting at my desk is unbearable so I haven't worked much last week. I know it is just muscle pain so no need for the doctor.
The good news is that due to my lack of appetite and bouts of nausea I have lost 5 lbs. So now I'm only 10 from my goal.
Yesterday was my birthday and I got several calls. I was hoping my roommate would make me a cake, not that I need it but he makes a good cake.
Have a great day everyone!

Afternoon gang. Thanks for starting us Melody. It's a thankless job, and I'm glad you do it.
Regular routine here, just the way I like it.
I know a lot of you are getting snow and ice. It's just cold here. It might even be too cold to snow.
QOTD: More often than not I have a Quest bar for lunch. It's an easy go-to, and a controlled serving of calories. If we're out somewhere it's probably a burger.

It is entertainment to me so I don't care if it is history or not. I love Dylan's voice and music.

I looked at one of those "what did they get right ?" Articles and it's about 50 percent accurate, 25 percent poetic license and 25 percent made up.

I will wait for it to be on TV but I am looking forward to the Dylan movie.

Good morning, everyone!
Kelly, I hope you had a Happy Birthday and some good family time.
We had a good weekend, everyone liked the Bob Dylan movie, and Marilyn and I watched plenty of football as well.
I did my official post-holiday weigh-in and was 208.8. I was 206.2 before Thanksgiving, so up 2.6 pounds. I don't think that I will make any special plans for the 2.6, but using the continuous blood sugar monitor for the two week cycles will likely help me eat better. Between that and Spring weather, I suspect it will drop back.
QOTD: I like to get a sandwich at Jersey Mikes when I am home. I believe that they also make bowls with no bread, which some on this site eat. A lot of days at work, lunch is brought in.
Breakfast: bagel
Lunch: catered
Dinner: Sausage
Have a great day, all!
