Hi gang. Thanks for starting us again. I'm still getting through holiday leftovers. They'll be gone tomorrow. Huzzah!

QOTD: besides being humongous, i was already on metformin for Type 2 diabetes. They told me I was going to need insulin before much longer. One of my primary WLS goals was to be off all meds. As soon as I got home from surgery my blood sugars were normal. It was pretty miraculous.

Your photos are so precious. The pic with the twins and you melted my heart. Adorns.

The Great Wave is here until January 6th, iirc. The graffiti is in Lil' Vietnam on Argyle a block east of the red line.

I ended up getting the sleeve during Covid so it was pushed back multiple times.

I read that it could put diabetes into remission and decided to try. I had been on insulin for about ten years and the diabetes did not go into remission. But it was improved for a long time, then gradually came back. I should have done it ten years sooner, but thought it was too drastic.

Good morning, Matt and all!

I saw that exhibit on the way into work and need to make sure that I attend. Do you know how long it will be on for?

Not a lot planned today, I will hit the gym, but nothing heroic. I may go to an after Christmas sale with Marilyn, depending upon whether it rains or not. My older son got a Dutch Oven for a present and has been talking about making us a potato/leek soup. Sounds great, but he is on a weird sleep schedule. No doubt some reading and football watching. Really, just what I want to be doing at this end of year period.

We still have lots of holiday leftovers. Plus we got a pizza oven from my sisters to try out. I wont starve.

QOTD: My Endocrinologist recommended it. From that point, it was about a 14 month process, I had a very long to do list before surgery.

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: Pizza

Dinner: supposedly soup, we will see.

Since we're at risk of missing a day and losing the daily streak, here's a quick post:

Good morning all and Happy Friday,

It's the weekend. This week feels like everyday is a Friday or Sunday. I'll take it.

I had a new aide start Tuesday. It's time to admit to myself that I need help again physically.

QOTD- What was the tipping point for getting WLS. For new, I was told I couldn't get a hip replacement without losing 120lbs. I lost 40lbs and the weight loss wasn't happening fast enough compared to my physical abilities being limited.

Accountability: Snickerdoodle

B: Ham and eggs, half bagel

L: PP chocolate mint shake(loving this flavor)

D: Cobb salad with ham and chicken, green beans.

Saw the Great Wave at the Art Institute with a new friend. We bonded over it when we met a couple weeks ago. She had the print as her cell phone case and I was wearing a shirt with the print. After the museum, I saw some street art on the subject matter.

Good Morning on this Friday-Eve that kind of feels like a Monday. I am tired and having trouble staying focused today but I'll get involved in a decent sized project so the day doesn't just drag on.

QOTD: John smoked a turkey and I made mashed potatoes so we don't have much to worry about this year. The key lime might be a weak spot for me.

TSS: 10 years 4 months

B: SF latte, 3 turkey sausage links, and an orange

L: Turkey and cheese sticks, carrots, light and fit yogurt and some fruit

S: A piece of fruit, mixed nuts and yogurt

Good Morning Matt and Menuers,

Wow I am so tired. Christmas took everything out of me, and I feel like I should be in bed. But here I am at work. I can tell this will be a long day. . No rest for the weary right. I did have a wonderful holiday and the girls were wonderful. No screaming lots of hugs and kisses and they are getting used to Rudy. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

QOTD: I put to go containers out so that everyone takes what they want. I have a few pieces of prime rib left over and some shrimp. I am down to one very small container of cookies and one slice of cheesecake. I only did 1/4 ham in the crockpot, and I left it on too long, so it got very dry. I'll grind it for ham salad, or I will feed it to the dog. I do have to google about freezing mashed potatoes though. I made 20 potatoes worth, so I did go a little overboard.

Accountability: Not completely disappointed in myself but I need to cut back on the bourbon.

TSS: 7 years 0-months 15-days 166.6 Lowest (129.4)

B: Coffee with SF Coffee-Mate Chocolate Caramel creamer

MS: Friendly Farms super zero Mixed berry Geek yogurt, ham

CB: Coffee with SF Coffee-Mate Chocolate Caramel creamer

Water and Vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and 500mg of Magnesium. I also use MiraLAX and fiber in my first coffee of the day.

Have a great day my friends.

Brightest blessings

Happy Boxing Day! I'm planning on sitting on my arse as much as possible. I've already watched one bad Christmas movie. More to come.

Yesterday was very nice, but it was more than 24 hours of Christmas parties. My own personal savior is more into relaxing.

  • QOTD: My personal best case scenario is to get through the higher calorie leftovers within a couple of days. We have a lot of desserts left, so those will be gone, one way or another, by the weekend. Ditto for mashed potatoes and corn. I've already frozen some prime rib, and I'll have the unfrozen stuff over the next few days as well.
