Health care in the US is primarily a for profit business, unfortunately. And it's based on insurance profit and decisions not actual medical needs.

Congratulations on each of your decisions to take the "Journey" of a lifetime. On 3/6/2002, I had the RNY gastric bypass procedure. This was WAY back when the procedure was fairly new. I've maintained a 90 lb weight loss, steady at around 15 pounds from my goal weight, and have never looked back. I'm 74 years old now, and so very thankful as this was the decision that's allowed me to live to this ripe old age!!! My philosophy is to have anything I want, in moderation. That has worked splendidly for me over the years. Sending MANY Blessings to everyone today and for your future! Cathleen

P.S. I tell everyone that I didn't get this OLD by being stupid!

Getting rid of the candy, yes! Though I didn't buy any of my favorites this time. No almond joys to obsess about! I would love to get to that point where I don't have to track. Using the scale or my clothes as a guide sounds doable in maintenance. No way I could do that now since I don't trust myself and I've got 20+/- to go.

Julia, I just love engaging with the littles. It's good for my soul and puts a smile on my face. Why not hand out candy for the first hour or two when the littles are out and then go lights out?

Good morning! Thanks for all the congrats yesterday. I felt like Super Woman all day long. I had a great day and am ready for another one today.

Conclave was excellent. Just excellent. Dinner out was a bit of a bust. Had to send my food back and I ate 30 minutes after Roger. Lots of leftovers. I've promised him steak and eggs for breakfast. Under accountability, 1 See's candy. 554 move calories burned, 107 minutes of hard exercise, 10,330 steps and 1 perfect 20 minute nap. I was way under calories at the end of the day even over estimating how many french fries I nibbled on.

Today is my oldest Grand's birthday. We have a teenager. 13. Unreal. I've done lots of cleaning and scrubbing already today and my workout gear is washed and hanging to dry. I need a trip to the market and I've got paperwork to do. I don't know why I can't settle down and get this paper work done. I need someone to give me a stern talking to. We are leaving for 2 back to back trips on Saturday, I am trying to use up all the leftovers or freeze them into single serving sizes. More work to do on that today too.

QoTD: I'm back to tracking on MFP. 31 out of 32 days so I'm getting in the habit. I use it mostly to track protein grams, but it also works as a rude wakeup call when I am thinking I'm getting away with something. Also, I am addicted to the move app on my Apple Watch. I will do almost anything to close those damn rings. It's such a sense of satisfaction when I do.

bites today

B: steak and egg

L: more leftovers. Shakshuka?

D: tbd. Need to go buy a few proteins.

Greek yogurt w/mix ins, and jerky/rotisserie chicken if needed.

Peace.
