Good morning, everybody!

Looks like a great birthday weekend, hope everything goes smoothly for Grim today.

I had just the weekend that I needed to have. Caught up on triathlon stuff after two weekends away, battled the parslane successfully, did a bit of house organizing and watched the Olympics. Marilyn joined me on my bicycle ride yesterday. Friday's crab and tortellini dinner came out fantastic. My son was a little disappointed that we had to use crab meat instead of getting whole Dungeness crabs, but, hey, we are in the midwest. And it was 100% real crab. We paired it with a glass of Blanc de Blanc and it was heavenly.

Two weeks until the triathlon. This will be my last week of grinding (5 Crossfit, 4 swim, 2 run, one ride). Next week I will taper off with a few days of total rest before the event on Sunday morning.

I think that I said that we are going to Asia in September. Last night one of our friends sent us a 9 course Chinese meal, with pairings, at the hotel in Bangkok that we are staying at. As good as it looks, I just don't know how many course I would be able to eat, even if they are small and I am just taking a few bites. It pains me, but I think that i am going to have to pass. Unfortunately, I don't think that it is the kind of thing where 3 at the table order special dinner and I order off of the menu.

Today is my second to last swim class. I really want to wear my suit for it, so I'm going to try and swing by the house so that Marilyn can zip me.

QOTD: Not very good. But I never was, so its not like there has been a slippage.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: Catered

Dinner: Hamburgers

Have a great day, all!

Good Morning! I'm glad you had a great weekend and I'm sending all the good vibes to Grim today and I hope you feel better soon. We had a low key weekend and John smoked another yummy Tri tip so I'm set for the week. Yesterday was my 10 year surgiversary so am I officially a vet now? I spent some time thinking about the last 10 years and just how different things are. I am not exactly where I want to be and have let some bad habits back in (looking at you high carb low protein snacks like handfuls of cereal and chips) but I'm not where I was and am proud of that. I'll keep fighting that's for sure.

QOTD: As my menu shows I pretty much eat the same thing every weekday for breakfast and lunch. For dinner we usually make a protein on the grill/smoker that gets us through at least the first 1/2 of the week.

TSS: 10 years

B: SF latte, Fiber/protein oatmeal, turkey sausage, and an orange

L: Turkey and cheese sticks, carrots, light and fit yogurt and some fruit

S: Mixed nuts, a piece of fruit and yogurt

D: Tri tip salad with avocado, a banana, and dark chocolate

ES: Protein ice cream and carbmaster toast

E: 1/2 hour elliptical and 20 mins Pilates bar

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1311 Protein:103 Carbs:129 Fat:50

Have a great day!

Good mornin everyone! QJB, hope you feel better and sending Grim all the best wishes. Please let us know how it goes!

Nothing much planned for the day. The only thing I have to do is run by a post office. Other than that nothing we have to do. I had a difficult night and honestly wouldn't know a good one if it bit me in the ass. lol. It was a difficult weekend. My niece Rachel is having a hard time at home. She is the odd man out. I'll never understand parents who show favoritism so blatantly! I am deeply disappointed with my brother. The biggest issue is laziness but there is other stuff involved of course. Such heavy things and we will have to have a talk with my brother and maybe SIL. I'll just say this...the counseling for hoarding did jack crap.

QOTD: not much in way of this and I need to get back to it as well.

B: eggs, coffee and maybe a ton of ice

L: chicken

D: fish of some sort.

meme for Grim!

Good morning - Looks like you guys had a great weekend! I hope Grims procedure goes well and he is recovers quickly. I had a very nice weekend. The only thing missing was a nap. Pre-season football is meh-okay, but is really the dangling carrot of the season to come and that is exciting! Busy week - lots to do, plans to change, meetings and deadlines. Work work work, fun fun fun.

QOTD - I used to cook prep, now just plan/put together my meals for work using frozen RGF entrees, deli ham/cheese keto bread sandwiches, salad kits w/ precooked meat like chicken bites from costco or rotisserie chicken and leftovers sometimes. I've found shortcuts and easy things I really like that make it less daunting over the years. Easy and good.

Accountability - I snacked on things I had no business eating, 34 active minutes, 10,113 steps. Today I am 168.8, 35 minutes on the treadmill done, will rebound tonight while watching the news.

B - coffee, protein shake, cottage cheese and tomato

l - chicken bites and cucumber salad

d - leftover beef stew and low carb tortilla

s- apple + PB

Have a great day!

It is sweetened, 20 cals per serving. I put a layer on top and get the flavor in every sip it's so good! Worth it to me especially considering the PSLs are 390cals for a grande and I'm just as satisfied.

^^I'm back from an amazing 2.5 day vaca and would give my left eye for another week right now!^^

Morning all! I just sent Grim off to his surgery. I spent the last half of the weekend a little under the weather and I have developed a slight fever and cough, so his daughter offered to take him to his procedure so that I don't infect anyone in the waiting room. I'm sad to not be there, but I know he's in good hands.

Send him alllllll your best juju. He's the best guy in the world :)

He took me away for an amazing birthday weekend. We stayed in a fantastic hotel right in the heart of the area. We ate yummy food, shopped, saw the sights, went on a fun lobster boat ride, and napped during every conceivable down moment. It's amazing how refreshing 3 days away can be.

QOTD: How are you with food prep these days? In the first 4 - 5 years post-op I spend every Sunday cooking and prepping a million tiny Tupperwares with food for every meals for the week. I gave up on the that about mid-way through my terrible year as a principal and I never went back. I was thinking how smart it would be to start prioritizing that again.

I'm not very hungry this morning. We'll see.

  • protein coffee
  • Siggi's berry yogurt
  • leftover lobster
  • garlic chicken

I saw pumpkin spice chobani at the store today. Is the PS cold foam sweetened? If not, where did you find it?

Good morning! It's a nice cool 69 degrees out right now and I should be in it. Humidity is coming back with a roar this week and if I can move, it will be mostly at the gym. Back still sucks, so I'm staying in for now. I did do lots of upper body stuff yesterday and stretching, but none of that shows up on my tracker. Wah wah wah. So sad. A measly 5,117 steps yesterday. Not even sure how I got so little since I am up every two minutes fixing someone a snack, or getting out crafts, or making a meal, chasing through a shower, cleaning up piles of clothes. I can't believe a week has gone by already! Today we have Harold and the Purple Crayon in the morning, and "dog lick" painting in the afternoon.

QoTD: girls until Tuesday morning. Then it will take us a day to put everything back the way we like it. It's always amazing how we think it's all done and then move a curtain or something and find a dirty sock. Zoom happy hour with Jim and Marilyn on Thursday. Professional window cleaning on Friday. We do this once a year and it's one of my favorite adulting things to have done.

bites today

B: egg and sausage

L: hoping we are back home from Harold and I'll have some turkey deli meat and cheese

D: Lasagna for Rog and the girls. I'll have a small bite and maybe a piece of TJ's sous vide turkey tenderloin

Peace everybody!

Good morning ~ It was beautiful day yesterday. We went to this new hike location. It was nice, but pretty rustic. The trails were not marked and I got nervous we would get lost so we walked the most direct trail about 3/4 of a mile out and turned around. I talked to a ranger at the visitor center after and she said that everything loops together. They have a docent led hike so that would help me get to know the property. Great place with beautiful views so I will definitely go back. Golf was fun and the rest of the day was errands and chores.

Today I have swim reservations but I'm on the fence about going. I went 3x last week, I don't want to burn out and I want to give my shoulders and ears a break. We'll see. Otherwise, it's house stuff and kiddo coming over. I'm in fall mode already seeing all the pumpkin stuff out at stores. I saw pumpkin pie m&M's?! I bought some pumpkin spice cold foam that is so delicious - who needs starbucks PSLs? Making beef stew for dinner - total fall vibes.

QOTD - I have a lot happening this week. School starts tomorrow so I need to prep for my class today. I'm in the middle of several reports I need to wrap up, finish an online training that is taking forever, my newest staff member gave her notice on Friday so that puts a huge wrench in my plans and I have the usual meetings. Basically I'll be working my booty off.

Accountability - great, 60 active minutes, 10,387 steps. Today 168.4, plans unknown but I will get in my steps.

B- coffee, eggbeater sausage and cheese wrap in the airfryer

l - bare chicken nuggets and chopped salad

d- beef stew and a parker house roll

s - Kiddo will be over so we will try all the fruit creami's I have ready to go in the freezer - pineapple (didn't have this yesterday), strawberry lemonade and mango orange.

Have a great day!
