Like many posters my ? happiest? years were at my lowest weight ( and young !) ( Straight outta high school - my Dad had zero interest in higher educatin m no matter how I begged)
It was a fun time to live in New York - rap was jes starting ... CBGB's even Studio 54 was still sumpin.
Life seemed to be full of opportunities and ? having ? to run 10 miles or speed skate twice that every morning before riding the subway 2 early calls wasn?t that off-putting jes d price 2 pay
Riding the A train home after fourteen hour days was TOUGH though ? woke up in Coney Island many a time .
Loved acting and was well paid as a garment district showroom model so I survived ( not in style tho)
I had a serious overeating ( binging and purging) problem too. Attempted OA particularly the HOW program for YEARS and STARVED lol .
I was NEVER skinny enuf for d camera 2 love m
. Should of course have been a plus sized model but they weren?t getting paid or appreciated at the time and acting ? it was the Bill Cosby - Harvey Weinstein era ( I met them both? alone?
) and eventually my acting career ended?
I wish I could get back 2 that .
Of course I?m no ingenue anymore but it was a lifelong dream ( I SO wanted 2 b a child actor !
) Mebbe in some capacity or perhaps I?ll end up getting paid for what I?m really exceptional at - art n stayin young.
Hey everyone. Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. I've been trying to get things done before my trip.
JB mentioned yesterday that we're going to Tunisia, in large part because of my uncle, who I was named after. He was killed in WW2, 17 years before I was born. Big Irish family, he was the oldest, my dad the youngest. When my brother retired from the navy a couple of years ago, this was on his list. So he and I and my daughter are going.
No time for Tattoine. My daughter is especially bummed. But it's way in the south, and there's nothing else there to see. We'll be mostly up north, near Tunis, Bizerte, and the Mediterranean. He's got a tour guide for just the three of us, and a pretty meticulous itinerary. That's my brother. I'm more of a "Let's go over. We'll find a place to stay when we get there."
QOTD: What works best for me doesn't appear to be the way anyone else does it. I need to keep track. Meticulously. Keep track of every bite, which has to include weighing it. If I don't, portions creep up, and then it's the slippery slope. It makes keeping track much easier because of how I eat. A meal involves weighing and recording one thing, rather than the multiple things most people eat. I have two "meals" in the MyFitnesspal shortcuts. One is for a cheeseburger, the other for pizza. So instead of entering three things, I enter one. That's my recipes!
Activity is great. Vital for health. But as DCGirl said, weight loss is in the kitchen, not the gym.

Take it slow and organize as you go. What's the rush?
Good for you to put you first.
Is spicy tuna a product or something you made. Either way I need more details please.

Hi friends! Pure mayhem over here - I moved Monday so I've been packing or unpacking for 3 straight weeks. Yesterday I worked 4 hours and still got 3.7 miles walked INSIDE. Literally that was just tromping floor to floor and settling in. I am nowhere near done. I'm having to accept that this will be a month long project - I'm gone 4 days this weekend and then an entire week so when my mom and her caregiver come back they are going to help me organize and figure out where the things go!
I am bummed I missed yesterday's QOTD. I am proud to say, NOW! I am seeing great success on Wegovy, I had the strength and courage to leave a relationship that wasn't what I wanted or deserved, and I moved to a new city. Onward and upward! It's been a super challenging year but I'm feeling excited!
Q: I also had a ton of regain - which I'm battling now. Apparently the stress of moving is useful for weight loss - I've had a big loss in the last month. I think I have two tips - you will find success in the kitchen, not the gym. Focus on food choices, calories, macros. However, exercise is critical for mental and physical health as well as just functional strength. My tip here is: the best workout is one that you love! I'm so thrilled I found Jazzercise - it's cardio and strength and the most amazing community!
I have not been eating enough (said me, never), but todays eats will be leftover spicy tuna, leftover egg salad, and I'm going for a walk later to explore the new hood and may try an authentic street taco place a few blocks away!
Have a wonderful day!
I am loving all the pictures. I love your advice. You have to be careful with the protein snacks as well. If I get snacks that are not portion controlled, I go overboard. Looking at you Fitzels.

Happy Hump Day !
I misplaced my car Saturday and couldn?t find it because my phone was inside !
Lost weekend
Tuesday I was VERY good cleaning terrace and even cleaning and organizing apartment. Luckily because HPD came to inspect . Other than heat which was too warm due to South facing window exposure and them coming late afternoon everything worked out .
Food - not much - composting n planting .
Fat free homemade mushroom / baby leek soup w fresh parsley, tea w ff milk n Stevia , 1/2 homemade bagel pizza w fresh scamorza cheese. ( between Mozzarell and Provovolone - yum ! )
Today B - Mexican Chockachino ( homemade n FF naturally ) w cinnamon, chili pepper flakes natural vanilla- Yummy n filling !
L - homemade wok-full Garlic Eggplant , Snow peas , little peppers ( homegrown n HOT ), Leeks n tons of garlic n ginger n scallions n fresh herbs .
D - FINALLY the veal feet lol ( I have a sub zero so they?re still fresh )
I too ( I?ve been binging 600 lb Life Where R Th Now ? - Dr Nowzharians son's amazing ( n respectful ) show ... found out that according to Dr. Now - ninety five percent of his patients regain significantly after a few years.
Wow that?s got to b super depressing!
I?ve been lucky enough to mostly keep it off then again I was a ( diabetic) lite weight to begin with so I have LOTS of motivation to eat right and move so as not to see that horrible disease come roaring back as it did in the case of my ex husband who ate ( just ) controlled calorie packs of cookies, Starbucks and drank ****asionally) maple syrup .
My fresh bakery- goods loving Great Aunt had both legs amputated.
Hardly crimes deserving a slow death sentence .
I?m lucky too to have a very severe reaction to eating sweets so I learned the hard way rolling on the floor in agony post op .
To me my crucial helpers are strong tea ( which keeps off 15 lbs allegedly vs coffee) ginger, garlic, the allium family ( which also heals the skin) , good air and getting outside whether it?s gardening, swimming or just walking and window shopping .
Though I?m not eating as rigorously low fat as before n directly after my surgery my body seems to have settled into accepting occasional ( much more fatty than cooked at home ) restaurant food combined with more of an Asian wok centered or fat free or low fat soup diet at home .
( and lots of salad w low fat or ff dressing ) I often make fresh dressings at home from powdered mixes and fresh herbs
. Do literally DECIMATE a family sized clamshell of fresh arugula or baby lettuce in 2 days always w low fat or ff dressing .
Can't BEGIN 2 unnerstand why anyone would desecrate a salad w bacon bits or thousand calorie full fat dressing. U R willing to eat a days cals - enjoy a steak or something else delicious Ure craving!
Staying warm to hot also helps - a chilled body wants to eat ! ((())))
