Chrissy, years ago when Rog and I were young and pretty poor, he got injured at work and lost the tip of his finger. Within like 5 days, the state of California had issued a worker's comp check for about $1500.00. They apparently have a chart that instructs them what to pay out for body parts. We were really broke and I remember looking at him and saying "What do you think you would have gotten if you lost an knuckle?". I'm glad he didn't actually and it was said in jest, and we still laugh about it
Good morning! I can't believe how time is flying by.
Yesterday was successful for me. Food choices were good. I struggled, but made it to 98 grams of protein. I need to add more. I know that a protein shake would help, but they cause me to struggle with constipation, so I am looking for better options. I did much better on hydration and my hands and the scale show it. 428 move calories, 67 minutes of exercise, 11,061 steps. My walk ended up taking a full 60 minutes and was 3.6 miles and my hips were killing me when I got home.
Today is gym for the EGYM circuit and hitting the treadmill for steps. Not much else on my agenda today. Trying to stay busy at home so I'm not out shopping and spending money for no good reason. I have started gathering things for the Grands for Christmas, and there is a great sale at Kohl's where I usually get them a cute pair of shoes, so ...
QoTD: No disrespect to Grim (who I hope is feeling better today! What a time for a painful injury!!) or QJB, but I do really have food emergencies. If you hang out with me you'll see one eventually. If I get too far past my 3-4 hour window in between meals, I will be sweating and shaking and actually crying. Nobody wants that girl with them on vacation. So when we travel I always have a high quality power bar and individual packs of beef jerky with me. If I am in town and crashing, I will run into 7-11 for beef jerky or El Pollo Loco for grilled chicken. I work hard to plan things out so I don't get in trouble. And this is the only time I eat power bars is in food emergencies.
Bites today
I realized I didn't add my late afternoon snack and evening snack to yesterday's menu, but I made the same choices
B: 1 hb egg, 1 slice bacon, 1/3 cup cottage cheese
L: last of my rotisserie chicken and pop chips. Note to self, go buy another one.
D: sweet italian sausage and a little bit of a TJ's pasta dish
3 pmish snack: greek yogurt with Jello chocolate pudding mix
9 pmish: 1 oz beef jerky
Peace!

I have noticed if I am in an airport in the US and grab eats, which is usually chicken or eggs, I get the foamies. I believe most of that food ends up in a microwave and that is one thing that will get me sick every time. I have had problems with microwaved food since my first day of eating after WLS.

That is why we have a 43 inch TV. Which was average size in 2004, when we had our cabinets put in, but now is basically a computer screen.

Chrissy, my trainer is big on 1 gram of protein per weight you want to be. 125 pounds equals 125 grams of protein. If you concentrate on that, it's hard to eat enough other stuff to matter. Calories will often be over, but you will be feeding your gut and muscles what they need. I'm currently working hard to meet this goal daily. And it is work. And a lot of planning. But also, weirdly freeing.
Keep trying the new place, once you make friends it will be better. Or find a completely new form of workout. My hat is off to you for driving 40 minutes, but I understand if you have made friends there and you like the teacher. I was devastated when my favorite Zumba teacher moved away.

I'd give my right arm to lose 12lbs. Now that I think about it if I gave my right arm, it would probably be around 12 lbs. How much did Gim loose when he lobbed off that finger? Maybe removing body parts can be my mode of weight loss. All kidding aside I am so glad it did not impact his upcoming plans. Things happen so quickly even when you are a pro. Just one little slip and damn. I have got bitten by my mandolin more than once in my life. I watch the cooking shows and see professionals take a hit from that crazy contraption.
