I use mine mostly for frozen vegetables that you steam in their package in the microwave. It works well for me because the packages are small and quick to cook with no pan or water.
I never thought about that reason for the two-week rule but it makes a lot of sense.

The two consecutive week rule is also a good way to uncover malfeasance and process problems.
I?m not from the pre-microwave era but I didn?t. Get my first one until it came with the house I bought in 2013. When I moved here, I had the choice of a really pretty hood or a built in microwave and I went with the hood, lol. I use mine for popcorn and that?s about it..I used to use it to warm up my Everoast deli chicken but after the boar's head recalls, not so much, lol

This is a good policy! We do still have bereavement and jury duty as separate and there's a whole parental leave policy as well. We are also on the only 6 day observed holiday and the stretch from January to May is so so so long, lol

I was self-employed for years and I had to make taking a vacation a priority. I made plans carefully ahead of time and committed to doing them just like another job. Not feeling well does suck the joy out of life. I have had different vitamin deficiencies that have really made me feel bad. I only take vitamin D if my blood count shows that it is low. There was a point where I was taking a lot of it. All of this becomes such a balancing act. Sometimes I feel fine and then the blood work shows problems. I hope you feel better and enjoy life more. Say hello to your kitties from their Aunt Mary.

I have not had any PTO or vacation time for the last 8 1/2 years. I used to have a ton of time off but I'm a contractor now and if I don't work I don't get paid. I do get 40 hours of sick time a year that is a mandate from the state of Oregon. I really miss time off with pay, I haven't been on a vacation in 8 years. The last time I tried to go it was the start of Covid and they closed down Disneyland so basically we flew down and back and got soaked it rained so hard and there was no way to get out of the rain. I really do need a vacation and I really want to retire.
QOTD- Probably the air fryer. No shakes for me Optifast traumatized me to much to ever want a shake or smoothy. I gave away my Ninja. I never used it and it took up too much space. I wouldn't be interested in the Creami either I'm not that much of an ice cream fan.
I did another blood test yesterday, trying to see if my vitamin D levels are still high. I haven't seen the results yet. Next week I do a bone density scan. I just haven't been feeling good lately. I can't find anything that brings me joy, I don't think I even remember what joy is.
I'm done with politics, it may be bad coming up but hopefully it won't impact my life that much. I'm not going to move out of the country, I really can't so I'm stuc****il I can figure out something.
We are now at a flood alert for urban and small stream flooding. After a long dry summer it's to be expected. Most people are relieved that the rains have come. Fortunately I no longer live on a creek.
I gotta get some work done, I've been procrastinating and struggling with this job I'm doing. This too will finish sometime.
Have a great day everyone!

It will be 15 years this December that I've been with my company. Ironicly my work anniversary is also my birthday which this year I will be 50.
We start off with 2 weeks PTO time and 48 hours of floating holiday time. Since we are a part of the trash industry, we only get 6 holidays off and the rest are made up with floating holidays. Then at 5 years we get another 2 weeks of PTO time and at 10 years we get another year of PTO time. So, if one makes it to 10 years with the company you end up with 5 weeks PTO time and 48 hours of floating holiday time. Bereavement, jury duty, military, and anything else has their own time off policy. We do have some pretty good benefits here.

I don't know if I want to go down the creami rabbit hole. LOL. It would really be more for my husband than me. Don't get me wrong I do like a good ice cream, but my husband could eat ice cream every single day if it were in the house.
I've been here for 28 years, and I only get 20 days off. That includes sick time bereavement, any reason I am out of the office. If it was too terrible I would not still be here. Sometimes I wish I had a government job. They are off all the time.
