Good mornin Jen and everyone.

Yesterday was rather uneventful which was rather refreshing. Pain levels were higher for some reason but oh well. Today I have my rescheduled appointment with pain management. I'm sure I'll have to do a drug test and it's really just for a pain med refill.

They are still saying extremism cold(for us) this coming weekend. I am less than thrilled. Over the cold! I need to live in a temperate climate!

Ms.Tange's wounds are healing really well and she is back to her old self. No new scuffles.

QOTD: I used to not drink all that much. But I've been eating ice and drinking water a lot. I have coffee in the morning. Sometimes I'll have tea around but not a lot. Usually it's water and ice. I haven't had soda in well over two weeks. I just don't crave it anymore,

B: breakfast sandwich and coffee

L: chicken and a chopped salad.

D: not sure on this one.

Happy Hump Day!!!

Irvin's birthday dinner was amazing. He was so happy with everything. The sirloin was grilled to perfection medium rare and we only ate half of it. The squash pie came out perfect and I added walnuts and pecans to it for an added treat. The best part was his morning sugar was only 139 considering all the carbs and sugar he had.

Work was also pretty smooth yesterday considering I was in the scale house. Usually it's crazy, but things were uneventful.

QOTD: Do you drink enough liquids? I've always been a water drinker (well over 64oz a day) more than any other fluid even coffee. Irvin on the other hand hardly drink water and usually has 3 cups of coffee a day. Since the 1st I've been nagging him to drink more and even got him Hin****er. Surprisingly he's been drinking 3 bottles of water a day and he says he feels better since drinking more.

B: steak and eggs

L: scampi

D: lamb gyro

30 minutes on the treadmill

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning, everybody!

Congratulations to Irvin on the 6.2. I am trying to get from 7.0 down to below 6.5, that is why I am doing the monitor.

Another bad game last night. The Sunday night game was good, but 5 out of 6 of the first round games were bad. Hopefully next week will be a lot better for the divisional rounds. The college games have been fantastic, but there is only the National Championship, next Monday night, left.

Somebody at our gym is organizing participation in a half marathon April 5th. The problem here is the weather. Right now, it's too cold and dark to run outside (and probably will be until late February). The treadmill that we have in our gym is the no motor type- I haven't ever run on it. I am going to think about it and maybe research what a training program looks like.

QOTD: Over the course of my career, I have enjoyed it. But i am ready to retire now. My official retirement date is 9/30/26, but if I get an offer for 9/30/25, I may take it.

Breakfast: Corned beef hash

Lunch: Roast beef sandwich

Dinner: hamburger

Have a great day, all!

That's a possibility. I'm just glad he's not tossing and turning all night.

His lower blood sugar may be helping with his sleep also.

i will be 77 in April and just quit working last February. I have been so fortunate to have always had jobs that I loved to do. When I look back, that was partly because I had a husband to support me if I did not work, so would not have stayed at a job that I did not like.

I worked as a secretary when I got out of high school. I went to beauty school at night and after I got my hairstyling license I worked doing that until I was 35. My husband and I had a shop together. We paid for our own hospitalization and back in 1969, that was $19 a month.

The cost of that and other benefits kept going up and I told Joe that one of us was going to have to get a job that had benefits. I ended up going to college for computer science, got a job with General Motors when I graduated, and worked there until i retired at 62.

After a few years of travel and fun, I decided I needed something to supplement my income. Taxes was ideal, because it could be a few months a year. I became an enrolled agent with the IRS and then went to work for Intuit TurboTax working from my home.

I enjoyed the work and the people and worked from January to April 15, then had the rest of the year off. Last year I started feeling too tired to work and ended up quitting. I guess co-workers that were not efficient were just a fact of life to me, and I never let it bother me. I just concentrated on doing a good job myself.

That's awesome they fixed the tire for free. Some place will charge you $20 to take a nail out and plug it.

Meditation is so relaxing at night. We've done it off and on for a few years and recently have committed to doing every night. We actually use Youtube and we listen to 10,000 hertz sounds. Supposedly it helps to heal the body. Does it? I don't know, but we both sleep pretty well and Irvin was one not to sleep well at all so it does something. He has a back injury from 2017 that has always caused him to only sleep a few hours, but since the middle of December he's been sleeping a good 7-8 hours solid and if he happens to get up during the night to use the bathroom he can fall right back to sleep. That's something he wasn't able to do in the past. I hope the meditation helps you Mel.

Good mornin everyone!

yesterday I was supposed to have a doctors appointment. When we pulled the car out of the garage one of the tires was really low on pressure. So I had to reschedule and we went to a tire place. Turns out it had a nail in it. They fixed it for free! Woot! Afterward we went to Sam's for a few things. Today looks to be a grocery day. I'm not feeling all to great. But I've got stuff to do today. I am hoping for a nap midday or at least to be able to lay down for a bit.

I was gifted a subscription to the calm app. I am loving the soundscape options at night. I am going to try some of the meditation stuff soon.

QOTD: I am on disability but I do enjoy chainmaille a lot. It's the closest i've got to a job.

B: oatmeal and coffee

L: chicken and maybe some creamed spinach

D: not sure on this one.
