Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all. Three more days left to this outage and I can't wait until it is over. One of the guys that is on the night crew got a warning for driving too fast through the parking lot and almost hit a contractor walking to their trailer. The contractor reported him to our shift supervisor that was on. This guy has a history of driving too fast even with company vehicles. Not sure if more will happen to him besides the warning.

QOTD: Who here will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with corned beef and cabbage? I have a corned beef that will be made in the instant pot when I get home and will do brussel sprouts instead of cabbage for the side.

B: coffee and 2 egg omelet

L: tuna wrap

D: corned beef and sprouts

30 minutes on the treadmill

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good mornin y'all!

not a lot going on today. At least that I know of so far. Fridays wind storm was all it was billed to be. We lost some siding on the big shed. My brother lost the south side of his fence line and some rather large branches that miraculously missed his house. There was a lot of damage area wide. Our top gust was 83mph here in Amarillo. Welcome to spring.

i finally got the CGM worked out and approved! Also shipped! Yay! I also finished the cipro, thank god. Still having flank pain but it is what it is.

QOTD: my late grandpa's birthday was today. He would've been 105. He was "my person". I celebrate for him. Not doing corned beef or anything special food wise though.

B: eggs, cheese and coffee

L: pancake on a stick

D: roasted carrots and some protein

Good Morning! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I made some cookies for the office and will wear green. This week will be busy as a team member who had a death in her family confirmed Friday that she will be out all week this week and it is our payroll distribution week. My other team member and I will be able to handle it all. I just hope to get some cooperation with other departments to get my reports timely, so far so good on Thursday and Friday with some of the pre-work.

Kelly, did you see Travis Barker ran a 22 minute 5k last weekend? I guess he got really into running while rehabbing from an accident.

My father was born and raised in Ireland. I never had corned beef until I was grown and married. Beef was not something that they ate in Ireland. Our St. Patrick's Day was ham and cabbage and yellow cake with green frosting. My father insisted that everyone have a new green outfit for St. Patrick's Day. Even though we wore Catholic school uniforms, we were allowed to wear green on St. Patrick's Day.

There would be a big party at the Knights of Columbus and my parents would bring home plastic shamrocks, green pipes, and big green hats. The relatives in Ireland would send a St. Patrick's Day card and put in some dried shamrocks. I grew up believing leprechauns were real. I was fascinated with Darby O'Gill movie.

Corned beef was used in the US because Jewish people ran the delis and did not use pork.

Using brussels sprouts instead of cabbage is a great idea. We grew our own brussels spouts and I loved when they were ready in the fall. We called them baby cabbages and preferred them to cabbage.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

Top of the morning, everyone!

We didn?t get in until 3:45 AM. The way the tennis nationals work is that there is a round robin play on Friday and Saturday and then the top four teams advance to the championship round on Sunday. So coming home early on Sunday is not an option, because if you qualify for the championship round, you don?t want to miss it. Between that, flying east and a 2 hour delay, it was a very late night.

I did sleep 3 hours on the plane and 3 more this morning, so I?m tired but functional. Marilyn?s team went 2-2 in the round robin, so they didn?t make it to the finals. But they had a great trip and we spent yesterday afternoon at the hot tub of the house they rented. So, not only home in the middle of the night but still covered in pool chemicals and sunscreen.

We stayed at the Arizona Biltmore which is one of my favorites. I wish the Thursday and Friday weather was as nice as Friday and Saturday. Also, I managed to do 25.3 at a CrossFit gym in North Scottsdale. It was tough, but I was happy with my score.

QOTD: yes

Breakfast: bagel

lunch: catered

dinner: corned beef and cabbage

Early to bed tonight!

Have a great day, all!

Weekend sounds so nice. On the plane with sunscreen and pool chemicals would be a bit uncomfortable and I know you were happy to get home to your shower.

Sounds like some extra rest might be needed the next few days to get caught up.
