What's on your Friday/Valentine's Day Menu?
Morning gang. Its bright and sunshiny here, but cold again. We've got another snowstorm coming, Saturday night and all day Sunday. Ick.
JB and I are hitting the movies again tonight. Staying up late, 2 nights in a row! And by late, I mean 10pm. That's pretty late for us.
QOTD: I would not get an EV. JBs mom has one. In good weather the range is only 270 miles. Not nearly far enough. She brought it over the week after she bought it, and we spent two hours looking for a charger. Only one was a fast charger, which still took almost an hour to charge. The middle level chargers that are more common only add 20 to 25 miles per hour of charging. No thanks. It might be fine for a family with two cars. One could be an EV for local, and then gas for longer trips. But JB has a hybrid -- the non plug-in kind. And she gets about 55 miles per gallon. We drove from Boston to Manassas Virginia last summer on one tank of gas, about 10.4 gallons. That's economical enough. In contrast my truch has a range of about 320 miles on a full tank, which is over 23 gallons.

In California my friends all have EV's and it is very easy to find charging stations. I just don't think they are as common in cold weather places, so the charging stations are few and far between

QOTD- I have a hybrid and I'm not sure I would want an all electric car. Not enough charging stations and they are expensive.
We have more snow today, it's supposed to turn to freezing rain later today. We've only got about 2" here but other areas have more. It's supposed to warm up so hopefully this will be gone by tomorrow.
Work is still a pain, everything keeps changing and nothing seems to be good enough. Just so frustrating... If I can survive for the next 18 months I should be able to pay off my bills and then maybe retire or just work part time. I used my federal tax refund to pay down one of my credit cards, and I'm doing the same with my Social Security checks.
I made a lovely minestrone soup yesterday but ended up not feeling well enough to eat it. So I'm heating it up for lunch today.
Have a great day everyone!
