It depends on the program you go with. Mine had a 10 week class, plus requirements around psych, nutrition and support group sessions. Others have been in programs they didn't have any of those type of requirements. Best to talk with your medical teams

The surgery is not a miracle cure for poor eating habits. You will need to work with your center's team to learn the healthy eating that will made the surgery successful, not just in the short term but for life.

Your program will tell you if you need to. But you should do it anyway. You'll be better off.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

Fortunately, my program did have a support group, and I was able to meet many people in different stages of their journey. I believe it was the key to continued success. Support is definitely a game changer if it is available. After Covid many support groups went away. So sad.
