it's me!
Good mornin everyone! Hoping that you're all doing well.
I have a PT appointment today and other than that not much else is planned. Hoping to get some stuff around the house done. I'm broke after paying some last minute bills but should be fine now. I am hoping to pick up a few quick commissions before Christmas to just make sure ends meet!
QOTD: Do you do food for holiday gifts?
I make fudge for family and a few friends. This year I'm making chocolate, peanut butter and coconut. I break it up and rarely even have a piece myself, not my favorite thing. I have gifted cheese to a friend before along with a wine I knew she liked.
B: PP pancakes and coffee
L: ????
D: an egg roll and orange chicken with broccoli.
have a good one y'all!
Mel
Good Morning Mel and everyone. Thanks for kicking us off. I got stuck in an unexpected meeting this morning and was just going to start a post but checked first in case someone else did.
Sorry I didn't get a chance to get back on yesterday things got busy at work when I got back from my appointment. I still can't believe I lost 5.5lbs. Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it. I go back in 4 months to check on things as I am still taking the Topamax at night and Phentermine in the morning.
Another short week and this Saturday is my granddaughters 8th birthday. They grow up so fast. She takes gymnastics and plays the piano which is something she wanted to learn. We'll be having a little party for her at the farm and her cousins will be there so she's going to be happy to see them.
QOTD: I have in the past make cheesecakes and fudge, but now we do fruit baskets that Irvin and I put together for people. They seem to really appreciate them especially the last few years.
B: coffee and protein shake
L: tuna melt
D: baked chicken quarter with kale and bacon on the side
Have a great day everyone!!!!
Anytime I tried food gifts, a lot of it ended up being my snacks. I love homemade fudge, brownies, and cookies. I might make a pan of Million Dollar Fudge. It is an old recipe with German chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate and marshmallow cream. I think my mother also added unsweetened baking chocolate. It is extemely rich and chocolately and once I have a piece it is hard for me to stop eating it.
One of my favorite sister-in-laws used to be known for her peanut butter fudge. I don't like peanut butter, but would eat her fudge. She was so proud of it. She passed away this year and her family mentioned her peanut butter fudge in her obituary. She would have loved that. She was a few years younger than me and I believe possibly ended up with lung cancer because she smoked a lot, but I have not asked her family.
I had two classmates pass away during Christmas week last year. It was really hard. Now that we are all about 76, we are starting a project where someone contacts you occasionally to see if you have any health issues and make sure you are doing well. Sometimes it really helps to know that someone is thinking about you and takes the time to check in and talk. Due to all the health issues, it is harder and harder to get people together for lunches, drinks, or shows like we used to do. But every bit of time spent together is helpful.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good Morning Mel and Menuers,
So, after I posted yesterday, I was able to take the time to take a COVID test and damn if it didn't show positive. Not sure if I believe it because everyone I used was expired by a year. So, I missed my Birthday party here at work. They are letting me come into work. I just mask and wear gloves when in common areas, I have tickets for the theater on Friday and Bingo on Saturday and I am going no matter what. I am not sick enough to not go. I am also taking Ivermectin so I should be clear by then.
QOTD: Usually pass out a few cookie trays and cheesecakes. I also do fudge. I buy Martini glasses throughout the year 2nd hand and fill them with fudge and use green and red M&M's to fill in the dead spaces. cello wrap them with a pretty tie and Jingle bells. I used to do a lot now not so many.
Accountability: Hydration is getting better, and I had a few bites of Cream Puff cake as I was going through the fridge and deciding what to throw out. All thanksgiving food is gone except I turned the turkey into turkey salad.

Good morning, everybody!
Three weeks from today is Christmas Eve. Are we ready for that? Today I am working from home. I have a lot of calls, but none of them are too stressful. Hopefully, I can sneak out to the gym during the day.
My sister and niece are coming into Chicago on Saturday and we are joining them for brunch on Sunday. My other niece lives downtown, so she actually knows a lot more restaurants than I do. But the menu looks good - it's an Italian brunch, so eggs, etc. but also things like pasta, butcher plates, etc. I'm in.
QOTD: Some years Marilyn does a neighborhood cookie exchange. Last year she did toffee and caramels and we sent some of them to Kelly. I am not sure if she will do the candies this year because her friend had a death in the family.
Breakfast: Bagel
Lunch: tacos
Dinner: Crab and cream sauce with pasta
have a great day, all!
