Woo Hoo it's Wednesday!!! I'm out of work at 10:30 and have a couple of quick errands to run then to get home and get things ready for tomorrow. Irvin's got the kitchen cleaned and some things already out in preparation of making the sides and the pie. Other than that nothing else going on today.

QOTD: Are you a traditional Christmas person or do you do something different? After years of Christmas trees and decorations and all that jazz I told Irvin I want to do something different this year. We will be celebrating Yuletide and making a Yule log. He even brought home the perfect birch log for us to decorate. I honestly haven't been this excited for the holiday season in a long time.

B: coffee and protein shake

Lunch and Dinner are up in the air today as I honestly don't have anything planned.

Have a great day everyone!!

Oh and don't forget to set your scale back 15lbs tonight. LOL

Good morning Jennifer and menu friends!

I'm back from swimming and starting to feel like I'm in holiday mode. I have a few things to do today: stay on my emails, CrossFit, clean up the dining room table and my car and pick DD up at the airport. But I definitely feel like the hard part is behind me.

Last weekend I did a pre-holiday weight in. I respect the people who weigh every day, but I don't feel like I'm up to dealing with the stress of the day to day vagaries. I was 206.4, we will see where I end up in January. I have an endocrinologist appointment on New Year's Eve, so I need to bear that in mind.

The holiday is going to be about 4 F's: family, food, football, fitness. Tomorrow is a 5k followed by a brief after race tailgate before heading back home for the day. Friday, swimming starts two hours late, so I can sleep in.

QOTD: Pretty traditional.

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: sandwich

Dinner: Steak

Have a great day, all!

I am waiting to get my cycle shoes to go back to my cycle class because I been wearing the gym's shoes and I got athlete's foot. I am not happy. I have not had this issue in many many years. I will be doing my regular crazy 8 class on Saturday morning though. I wish I had a wife, so I had time to hit the gym like you do. You're doing so well on your journey. Proud of you friend.

The tailgate may be brief, it looks like 34 degrees and maybe sleet. But our friends are bringing mimosas and chocolate chip pumpkin bread.

Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving eve!

a lot happening today. Walmart, Sam's and an appointment with my psychiatric nurse. I'm actually feel rather positive today. My doctor yesterday was great. He walked in and called me a liar after I said I was ok. His exact words were "liar liar, pants on fire". It wasn't meant to be mean and it felt nice to be seen. We had a long talk and he decided to try and put me on mounjaro. It came back declined but imagine my surprise when I found out this morning that the insurance just had a prior authorization on it and it was approved! Woot! My A1c went up .1 %. I am not surprised but still disappointed of course. My mom has finally decided to stop buying junk food stuff. I don't eat much of that stuff but it's always a struggle not to eat it. He also asked me about CGM. Which I am thrilled to even have that be a possibility. I check my blood sugar over 5 times a day...usually 6. He also referred me to an orthopedic clinic to see about getting a shot in my shoulder. I can't tell you how relieved I am over it. The PT just is making things a little worse for the most part. It's just nice to be heard and seen.

QOTD: my mom is traditional all the way. I am not enthusiastic about decorating but my mom loves it. I am just not into it. This year of course we have Tange. We set a plain tree up and she took flying leaps at it so no tree inside. There is one on our front porch,

Food is up in the air. The usual for breakfast. Lunch might be some chicken chunks and a salad.

speaking of chicken.

What will you do with the log? I am not familiar with the tradition. I assume you burn it on Christmas Eve.

I always wanted to do Christmas on a sunny beach in Florida but know family depends on me being here and would feel deserted. So very traditional Christmas like always.

Yuletide is a Pagan holiday tradition.

It starts on the Winter Solstice December 21st and goes until January 1st. Normally you would burn the log each night in a fireplace and then whatever is left you would use the next year to start the fire, but because I don't have an indoor fireplace we will be improvising and putting candles in the log along with natural decorations like pinecones and holly. Each night we will burn the candles for a little while.
