Finally Friday's Menu

Ah Friday you grace us all with your presence. I have a half day today and I'm praying nothing crazy happens.

Have to stop at the feed store to grab some critter grain. I plan on sorting through my chickens and thin out the flock. I think we have about 47 chickens. Some are egg layers, and some are meat ones, but I really don't want to feed all of them throughout the Winter. I think I want to keep 10 egg layers and 10 meat ones with one rooster for both pens or I might just keep 15 meat hens with one rooster since the hens have started laying eggs they just don't lay as long as a true egg layer. I'll figure that out tomorrow. Other than that, not much planned for the weekend.

QOTD: Did you or your family ever get on the green bean casserole train? I remember so many years ago when it came out and people it seemed everywhere was making it for the holidays. While I never made it, I have had it at different family events. I mean it was OK, just not something I felt the need to make myself and I like green beans.

B: coffee and protein shake

L: chicken satay and fried rice

D: baked cod with spinach

Have a great Friday everyone and weekend.

Good mornin everyone.

Yesterday's PT totally kicked my ass. I had a different therapist and he really worked it. I am so sore today and barely slept at all. It's gonna be a long long day. I have to get 5 packages ready to mail today. They'll go out tomorrow morning. One of my friends bought some collector horror bears that another friend had sent me. With financial stuff being tight it was a huge help.

We have the kids after school. We're also going to get what else we need for thanksgiving. Just apples, a few lemons and maybe some buttermilk. We haven't decided on the last one yet for the potatoes.

I am feeling a little burnt out. This lyrica is really making me drag but is helping with nerve pain. I have to decide if it's worth it. It's about 80% worth it right now.

QOTD: my late uncles wife always did one for the family thing and it is disgustingly nasty. She isn't a good cook(or person lol that's for another time). She'd always experiment with adding stuff. Once using cranberries in it. Eww. Now my SIL makes it and it's not as nasty but not my cup of tea. BUT I have some to make her not feel bad. I'm a green bean snob. I hate frozen ones and I can tolerate canned in soups. I just prefer fresh.

B: eggs, Turkey sausage, cheese and coffee

L: ????

D: also unknown. It depends on if we feed the kids or not,

Mel

I did giggle a little about your uncle's late wife and the disgustingly nasty GBC. Some people just can't even boil water right. Who in their right mind would add cranberries to that dish? I agree with you about preferring fresh stuff. The crap they put in canned stuff we all know is just not good for us.

Did you ever get the Proferrin? I know a few months back you talked about wanting to get a bottle to try to see if it helped with your iron and you being tired. At least the lyrica is helping 80% of time better than not helping at all.

Yes, I am thankful for the 80%! The nerve pain can be so tricky so I'm really just going to have to get used to the tiredness.

the proferrin wasn't good for my tummy. I am one of the odd people that it does it seems. I am trying a patch but it is irritating my skin a bit. Getting a bit older it seems my body has decided to be allergic to a lot of crap lol.

my aunt once made this cake, it was supposed to be a Black Forest cake. I imagine just about anything tasted better than that. To this day it is the nastiest thing I've tasted. She always experimented with stuff for major holidays. Then if no one ate it she'd throw a pissy fit. She also did the stuffing once that was god awful, it had dried blueberries and raisins. Just eww:

Good morning, everybody!

I spoke too soon yesterday, we ended up getting about 4 inches of snow in the city and 2 in the burbs. No problem with the trains though.

Ever since I signed up for Masters Swimming in October, I?ve known that the morning was going to come when I had to scrape ice off of my windshield, in the dark, at 5:30 AM and then jump into a cold pool. I thought today would be the day but it warmed up a bit and I didn?t need to do it.

They have a German Christmas Market in downtown Chicago that opens today. I think that I will go down today for Pierogies and a beer at lunchtime. Hopefully sauerkraut or potato with sour cream.

Hopefully Chrissy has more pictures from last weekend, but I have one of the ladies at dinner.

QOTD: I?m in the minority, but I love green bean casserole!

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: Pierogies

Dinner: Steak

Good morning Jen and Meneurs,

I love the meme this morning. I have no****ched Despicable Me 4 yet. I do see it is on one of the streaming services I own so may try to get it in as the holiday preparation begins. I decided I am going to serve City chicken and Perogies for the Steeler game next Sunday. I wanted to do something more fun for my birthday but being it is at the end of a holiday weekend it did not work out like I wanted. I'll cook and have friends for the game. I hope to hit the gym for a cycle and crazy 8 class tomorrow. The gym has been busy lately so I may not get in. There is a limit on how many each class can accommodate. She only has 20 bikes.

QOTD: I prefer Arkansas-green-beans over the traditional green bean and mushroom soup. However, I am going with the soup recipe this year. Mom loves them and who know how many thanksgivings she has left.

Accountability: I was hankering for a PB&J so I went with 1 piece of toasted Keto bread instead of 2 slices. It killed my craving I am grateful.

TSS: 6 years 11-months 11-days 168 Lowest (129.4)

B: Coffee with SF Coffee-mate pumpkin spice creamer

MS: snack select, L&F toasted Marshmallow Greek yogurt, pear

CB: Coffee with SF Coffee-mate pumpkin spice creamer

L: white chicken chili, Clementines

D: TBD. We have not gone to Texas Roadhouse lately so maybe there. I have hit a couple lottery tickets, so I think I want to enjoy a meal without being the one to prepare it. Especially with all the food prep I need to get done having two days of guest next weekend.

Exercise: Dog walking (Rudy was not a fan of the snow this morning)

Water and Vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and 500mg of Magnesium. I also use MiraLAX and fiber in my first coffee of the day.

Have a great weekend my friends.

Brightest blessings

Chrissy

These are from last weekend.

That green bean recipe looks good. Who doesn't like bacon.

I can't believe the Steelers lost last night. We watch some of the game and then fell asleep. I thought for sure they would win, but then again Buffalo beat Kansas City the other day.
