My daughter was dying to try In and Out Burger while we were in California over the weekend. It just gets raves out here. She was as utterly unimpressed as I was. It's like my 5th or 6th favorite fast food burger.

If Sheila sees this when she's back she'll probably unfriend me but they are pretty low on my list. I mean, Wendy's is higher.

Mornin' All!

well I fell asleep around 1:00 AM, and was wide awake at 4:00 AM. I finally gave up trying to get back to sleep and went out to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. This could be a very long day.

my brother arrived yesterday afternoon on schedule, but he decided he was going to sleep over at my mom's. It's just as well. It's kind of disruptive having someone else in the house, and by having him stay mostly at my mom's, it'll give me a few days off of having to deal with her, which can get really stressful at times. I'll look at this as a much-needed break.

classes start today, but I can't go to my in-person one since I have a hair appt at that time (my hair dresser schedules three or four months out and is really hard to get into on short notice, so I'm NOT giving up that appt...). Not much else going on. It's supposed to rain later, but hopefully it won't be too humid beforehand because I need to get out and bike or walk this morning.

QOTD: the only checks I write any more are to my hairdresser and my massage therapist. They're both in business for themselves (and my massage person works out of her home), so they just take cash and checks. I used to write several checks a month - now it's like one or two. It takes me FOREVER to use up a check pad!

coffee with half & half

skyr with fruit

protein shake

protein muffin

2 T black bean dip with 5 tortilla chips

L&F yogurt?

not sure about dinner (again!). Maybe a salad with chickpeas on it (for protein)?

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning ~ It's going to be a hot one today - 90's everywhere and even hotter in the hills. But nothing is going to dampen my mood, not even our sweat lodge of a house w/no AC after work. It's week 1, game 1 of NFL - Ravens @Chiefs. Will TS be there?? bring it! I was able to complete my annual beast report - today will be polish and revisions then boom it's over. I'm now looking forward to passing on my monthly reports to staff (in stages), I just have to update them first, but there is a path I'm excited about. I can see the weekend from here, lots of fun plans and more football. I'm always happy at week 1, ask me again at week 5 when I'm restless and feel chained to the house. Actually I'm going to try and avoid that this year by being super active on Saturdays to more enjoy the lazy Sundays.

QOTD - Yes, Rob's mom and now Chloe's groomer stopped taking plastic due to cost. Who carries cash these days? I wish we could venmo but no, they are both old school.

Accountability - better, much better on food - no extra bites of any kind. I think a diet break is good in that I got it out of my system, but I don't want to get stuck there, regain or prolong the agony of losing this weight. I've pulled my head out of the sand and I'm going to work hard to get to my goal. 56 active minutes and 10,210 steps. Today I'm 168.6, 30 minutes done on the treadmill.

B- coffee, cottage cheese

l - leftover chicken on zero tortillas

d - bacon cheeseburgers on the grill, no bun

s - melon/strawberries, nectarine, jerky

Have a great day!!

Is it gross that I've been cutting up fresh fruit, adding a little low cal whipped topping and coconut and enjoying "Ambrosia" on these hot evenings? Ambrosia is one of the those trigger foods where people are like "ewwww, gross! My mom made me eat that!" But it's low cal, cold and has lots of textures. And I like it!

I've been eating a lot of fruit! It's so good in season, refreshing in this heat plus loads of fiber - we all need that! Yum! The whip and coconut sounds great to me! Last night I had a bowl strawberries with fairlife milk and splenda, omg that was good!

What made it gross for me was the marshmallows. Fruit and a whipped topping with coconut sounds great.
