Mornin' All!

it's supposed to rain off and on today, but it'll be ushering in cooler, sunnier weather starting tomorrow - 70s and clear the rest of the week - perfect! I have a consult with an orthopedic surgeon this afternoon about my hip, and I'll be baking a (Swedish) midsummer cake for my b-day tomorrow. Otherwise, same old.

QOTD: not treasures to me, but family "treasures", like that godawful candlestick I posted. From Greg's side of the family, we have some wooden things that his grandfather made. Some of it is nice - like a couple of very nice wooden boxes that we have in our living room. But there's a small table in our basement that, although nice, has a very "grandparent" look that just doesn't fit in our house (by that I mean some piece of furniture that would have been in one my grandparents' houses - perhaps next to a wingback chair or a couch with a godawful floral pattern. Not my style). And then there are some wooden lamps that he made. UGH. They are ENORMOUS and look like something out of the 1950s. They are "proudly displayed" in the unfinished part of our basement. They're way too big too hide in a box. I have no idea what we're going to do with them. If his grandfather hadn't made them, they would have gone to a thrift store - if they'd even accept them.

coffee with half & half

cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with blueberry sauce

salad with chickpeas and diced peach

protein shake or protein ice cream

not sure about dinner - maybe one of those Loma Linda microwavable Mexican-style things with some diced tomato and plain Greek yogurt on top

have a great day, everyone!

G'morning all!

JB - good thing as an adult you can decide when to go to bed or what/when to eat. You are in charge. I used to be so mad when I was sent to my room, now sometimes in the middle of the day I think what can I do so bad that I get sent to my room? Then I realize I just need to walk to my room and close the door. So go to bed when you need to.

I had a therapeutic session with my trainer yesterday. On top of making me sweat she can be a very good therapist. She takes care of body and soul.

QOTD - we don't have an attic or basement. We have boxes in the garage but about 2 years ago we went through them all and cleaned out the garage after 18 years we've been here. I think we did about 7-8 trips to the dump and got rid of tons of stuff. Nothing interesting, just DH that keeps stuff while I'm the type to get rid of stuff.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • TJ kebab w/fage yogurt
  • Barebells bar, Apple
  • Protein icecream - choc chips cookie dough
  • E: 6 miles walk

Happy taco Tue!

Good morning! The houseguests just left after a really wonderful, soul filling visit. We did some dc sights and went to Annapolis and had a big brunch and just generally had a great time. We also had incredible Alaskan crab and watch women's Olympics gymnastics. Unbelievable!

Im not mad about getting back to my regularly scheduled life, however. Today is work 8-4 and then go to class at the gym. I'm having Dh grill a ton of stuff tonight so we will have protein for days!

Qotd: I have some stuff - we had a small leak in the unfinished basement area a couple of years ago so we went through everything and tossed and donated much of it. I think the things I have that I don't know what to do with are things like bins of photo albums that I can't bear to throw away but also don't want to schlep around. But we are very minimalist and do not have lots of stuff by choice.

Meals are a small turkey sandwich, maybe a chicken quesadilla and not sure what else. My mom helped me reorganize the freezer and I feel so good about what we pitched and what we kept and now I know where everything is!

Good morning! I'm just about to pass the 48 hour mark as the adult in charge of the young'ens. So far, pretty good. Zoo camp is a hit, but packed lunches need tweaking. My oldest grand is up early to supervise the process. Ha!

Ok, meal wise yesterday, I ate like I was one year out. Small portions and almost all protein. But I had THREE snack attacks and none of them were good choices. That's not like me. I mean one is sort of like me, but I haven't done three in years. Also, the lack of being able to wear tennis shoes kept me from getting in all my steps. Today, the tennies are on, but for how long I am unsure. Back at it again today. I wish is wasn't so dang hot. I'd love to drop the girls at camp and just hike around Balboa Park for an hour. But heat will make me bail almost every time.

QoTD: I was going to say no, but Roger does have some weird things from his parents in the back wing of the garage that he insists on holding on to. Plus about 10 thousand baseball cards. If you put something near me and it doesn't move for a while, it's going in the goodwill bin. So Roger doesn't let me in the garage without supervision.

Bites today.

B: a little egg scramble

L: deli meat, tomato, piece of protein toast

D: tacos. I'll eat the insides and a bit of refried beans.

Peace Everybody!

10k baseball cards? That's all? Don't throw them away! I had ~300k cards that I sold in '22. Only about 1-2k were worth anything by themselves.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.
