Various things. Today's word of the day for Alivia is Taxonomy. She's starting her Nature Journal, exploring the reptile mesa, house and urban jungle, meeting reptiles face to face and riding the train. Erika's word is SouthWest and she is also starting her nature journal, meeting an animal from the southwest area (rumor has it a fox may be included...her favorite!), meeting a wildlife care specialist and also, riding the train. They are there from 9-3 daily for this week. They'll do crafts, learn what the animals eat and need for care, learn to identify different species, etc.

Oh, How cool they have an adults version. The zoo here and the science and nature museum have killer camps for kids and sleepovers but not for just adults:-(. I would do it in a hearbeat

Mornin' All!

my kitty with the corneal ulcer somehow ruptured it again last night, and it looked even worse this morning, so he may have been pawing at it overnight. I put a soft E-collar on him this morning (will put a stiff one on him if this doesn't work) and gave him some gabapentin. He's been sleeping ever since (thankfully!), but his preferred sleeping spot appears to be on my chest. I've put both cat beds on top of MY bed and have put him in them, but he keeps coming back to my chest. ARRRGH. It's OK for now since I'm interneting and reading, but I have a few errands to run today - plus I need to eat breakfast and take a shower. He looks so cute and peaceful sleeping on me, though, that I'm hesitant to disturb him.

QOTD: I really don't get very hungry anymore - or only rarely - but I get really snacky in the late afternoon. Oddly, I almost never do at night, which I know is pretty common.

coffee with half & half

skyr with fruit

protein muffin

cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie (with strawberries)

L&F yogurt

salad with chickpeas and diced peach

have a great day, everyone!

Poor kitty needs his mama close to help him deal with this. Sorry he has to be disturbed. Hoping he gets better.

QOTD: I do not get hungry anymore, but when I younger I always found the secret to be to start the day with only protein. If I ate carbs in the morning, I craved them that entire day.

QOTD- Late afternoon, especially salty crunchy things.

QJB sending good wishes for a quick recovery for your Dad.

I didn't accomplish anything this weekend other than laundry and drying it outside.

My house cleaner is coming today hooray! It's been way too long and I haven't done very well keeping it clean. If it were just me it would be easier but I have to work with what I've got.

I need to get to work. Have a great day everyone!
