Mel, sometimes people are ******** You really can't control how people behave, only how you respond to them, and (sometimes) what you hang on to and what you don't. I hope you and your mom can get into a healthier relationship. Can your counselor or peer partner help you with some ideas of what to do in the moment to disengage?

That's a good idea and I'll talk to them about it. Most of the time I do just let it slide off my back. It may still bother me but I won't engage with her. I need a healthier way to deal with it for sure.
Ever since her mini stroke she is a more combative person. Sometimes I have a hard time dealing with that. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll definitely be talking to my support folks about it!
I know this is not supposed to be the correct thing to do but sometimes I have to engage with a person and be meaner and more insulting than they are. Because I am normally quiet and easy going, it is shock when I do that. I tell people that I have a very long fuse, but it is still a fuse and if you try for long enough, you will see an explosion.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Gooood morning! Your QOTDs are always so great. Hmm. Maybe I could gold medal in pizza? Pre-WLS, even a little in recent years, not now with Wegovy. I went out with a friend last night and had one chicken tender and about 5 bites of pizza which was the perfect amount (it was a sports bar). Anyway it's nice to feel some sort of restriction (mental more than physical).
Big day for me - I have a consult with a doctor for something that I need to get done that will greatly enhance my quality of life so it will feel good to maybe get a plan together! No gym today due to gallivanting to the doctor.
Eats today are more of the same - grill. Geese, chicken thighs, chicken sausage. Nothing exciting but all tasty!
