What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Morning Gang! I am writing in from the deck of my parent's house. It's a lovely warm morning and the sun is shining :) My cuppa is a little sub par, but I won't worry about that just yet. I need to run to Target when they open to get all the things I forgot for the weekend (Apple Watch charger, allergy meds, & sleeping pills topping the list) so I will grab a Starbucks while I am out.
Confession time! I started Wegovy a week ago! I was scared to say anything at first because I was so convinced I would be the one person it didn't work for and I didn't want to fail so publicly. I know, dumb, but I was nervous. I still have no idea if I will be successful or not but I can tell you that it really does manage my hunger so I know it will have to have some effect, eventually.
So far I am only down about a pound but it's been up and down a few ounces every day. It's not the same dramatic weigh-loss as after surgery but my lack of hunger really mirrors that same feeling as the first few months. For most of the first week I just felt nothing. No hunger and no negative side effect, just no interest in food. But yesterday I took my second dose right before work, expecting the same and...ugh. By 10:30am I was violently vomiting in my office and was basically overcome with nausea. It was awful. I managed to make it through the interviews I needed to do with a giant bottle of Gatorade Zero by my side, and took the 4pm train home. I feel better today but I haven't really eaten anything in a day. Anyway, I will keep you updated on my adventures with a GLP-1 and hopefully that was the most dramatic it will get!
QOTD: Got any Netflix, Amazon Prime or Max recommendations for this single lady with no one to share a remote control with this weekend? I finished reading Luckiest Girl Alive yesterday then immediately watched the Netflix movie adaptation last night. It was good. As usual, the book was superior, but I thought it was a very good adaptation.
This is my parent's cat, Mindy! She is 18 years old and even though she still looks like a little kitten, she is definitely an old lady, lol. She's only 6lbs, whereas my boys are giants at 17 lbs & 19 lbs. She is completely deaf and she meows loud enough so that she can hear herself--it's deafening! But she is a still a sweet kitty and likes her cuddles.
Accountability: 8600 steps and no food except for the egg bites that didn't stay down and two crackers at 8pm last night that did stay down.
Food is ??
Have an awesome weekend everyone!
Mornin' Everyone!
yes - keep us updated on the Wegovy. I may look into something like that at some point, too. I hate that I'm still dealing with weight/food challenges after going through WLS, but this IS a lifelong battle that requires a multipronged approach.
we have a meeting with our financial guy this morning, and I have a lunch meeting at noon with my film group (film is "Four Daughters" - a Tunisian film that was an Oscar nominee. I liked it - but curious to hear what the others thought). I have to go to my mom's this afternoon to help her fill out an online form for an urology appt next week. I don't really like going over there, but I need to - and it's been a week (normally I pop in 2 or 3x a week). Should be a good afternoon for biking - 80F, low humidity, low wind speed - so I'll do that, too.
QOTD: I watched a film on Hedy Lamarr ("Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story") recently for a different film group. It was interesting - had no idea she was so scientifically inclined! She even had a patent! Sad that she was celebrated only for her looks.
coffee with half & half
plain skyr with fruit
protein shake
at the same damn restaurant for our lunch meeting (I'd give the place a "C", but the rest of them seem to love it). I guess I'll have the minestrone soup and Caesar salad again. That and the pizza are the only two decent choices on the menu, IMHO, and the soup and salad would be the safer choice of the two
probably salad again for dinner (with diced chicken and diced peach)- I love it and I need to use up the chicken I took out of the freezer the other day
have a great day, everyone!

She's in the inventors hall of fame for her contributions to what became Wi-Fi, she's been featured on a ton of science documentaries since the early 2000s, but I think a lot of her story came to light to most people after The Only Woman In the Room novel was published in the mid-late 20teens. Her being the "mother of wi-fi" is one of those random factoids that sticks like Michael Nesmith's mother inventing wite-out or that Beatrix Potter researched mushrooms/fungi in her kitchen (which seems a bit dangerous to me).

The Only Woman in the Room was great! I made Grim download all the Hedy movies for me after that because I became a total fan girl for a minute. She was an amazing human.
I really liked that book "The only woman in the room".

Good morning and happy Friday! We have almost made it through the week. I have a lighter meeting day today, very happy about that. My house is clean, my laundry is done (but maybe just hidden in the laundry room and not folded), I don't have a Sunday flight, all in all a good weekend ahead with some reading, maybe a movie and some exercise. I'm thinking to start with an after work bike ride today.
QOTD - I am behind on everything but think you should embrace the chance to watch all the scary things Grim doesn't like.
menu today
coffee plus half and half X3
key lime skyr
ham and cheese slider
tbd on dinner, glass of rose on the deck for sure.
Pictures are from Wednesday's early morning walk
and the encounter that shortened my morning walk yesterday (I did get back out get my 76 active minutes and 10,113 steps in though). It's most likely a bull snake but I couldn't get close enough to be sure so found a different route.

No need to get close to ascertain the type of snake. First reaction should be to get the heck out.
