What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good morning! Such a nice day yesterday. We did not stay for the concert. We had slow walked the entire fair and realized we would have to get a table in the concert area and wait two hours. That part would not have been bad, but the before our concert group was heavy metal and I just hate that. Plus we would have ended up killing the two hours by drinking wine and that would have derailed a bunch of things. So we came, we saw, we ate, we left. I did pretty well. About ten of the mandatory for us Tasti Chips (fresh potato chips out of the fryer) 1 fried cheese on a stick, and for dinner when my body was begging me not to add any more carbs I found a pork chop on a stick and ate that. It wasn't great. Too dry. So I was very careful not to get stuck. But after my brain and belly caught up with each other I was feeling much better and Roger's life was no longer at risk. It was perfect weather and I clocked 12,566 steps, but only 7 minutes of exercise. Slow walking kills me. I can power walk for a few hours and do ok. But that slow meander kills my low back!
Today is the 40th birthday of my favorite girl on the earth. How Kati made it to 40 when I am only 45 is one of the great mysteries on earth. I'm hitting the gym up to get in a treadmill walk for steps and then moving to the aqua fit class. I'll be home in time to make a healthy lunch and work on some art this afternoon. And then we are meeting the kids for gourmet tacos to celebrate 40. The taco place is just a 10 minute walk, so I'll add a few steps then.
QotD: 6 I could maybe choke down 2 of the six but Liver, canned tuna, pickles and olives are not passing these lips.
Bites today!
B: fried egg and piece of pork (not from the fair!)
L: leftover flank steak and roasted carrots
D: Street tacos and elote. I used to be able to eat only one, so I'd get two and bring two halves home. I'd like that to be true tonight. But I sure do eat more volume than I used to.
Peace Everybody.

HBD to Kati.
And I feel the same way, how can I have a 26 year old daughter when I'm barely 35?
I can't imagine somebody not liking pickles.

HBD Kati!!! Wow, 40??? Where does the time go? Great job on food/wine at the fair. Rob has settled on watching the San Diego news channel these days and we saw a story about your fair. Now we have planned to go to ours at the end of July. We talked food must haves... him the corn dog, candy apple and cotton candy like when he was a kid. Me? I so badly wish we had fried dough ;( I haven't been in over 10 years or more. I used to always get the fresh lemonade and a fried eggroll on a stick. Weird, right? Everyone has their favorite fair foods.
