Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
It is Tuesday and it started out with me going to the eye doctor when my appointment is next week. Is it my Mom with dementia or me? It is always something with her. Last night her phone died. I was lucky I canceled my home phone last week, so I had it still had it lying around. I had to go back and install the phone that worked. It's all good. I belong to a Facebook group for people addicted to Aldi. I have been going a lot more and spending a lot more too. But look what I found yesterday.
I didn't eat any last night because I Picked up the baby cucumbers and Tajined them. Thanks Amy they were amazing.

Facebook group for people addicted to Aldi's. I guess there is a Facebook group for everything. Send me a friend request on Facebook. Mary Jennings Meffe, EA. Make sure I know it is you. I get so many friend requests from creepy men with two first names, like Joseph John or Michael Robert.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
G'morning from a bruised all over and tired to the bone backpacker.
We survived the 4 day backpacking and I have pics to prove it. Things I learned on this trip:
- Teenie was right and the good I had planned to take was not enough. We added Eden and pouches, beef jerkies and chimp sticks to that list.
- LMNT goes into every ounce of water you drink, and you drink gallons and gallons of water.
- Hb eggs out of the fridge last two days max. Then they go really bad. Maybe the heat was a factor too.
- Tevas are not good water shoes if you want to climb rocks before and after. Unless you bring your hiking boots with you during day hikes. Hence the blisters on the feet.
- Always watch the Gen Z to learn new things. They wore Tevas with socks to prevent the above mentioned blisters. Too bad I noticed that on the last day.
- If you tie your hiking boots to your day pack while wearing your Tevas make sure they are tied securely. Otherwise your husband needs to run back about 1.5 miles to retrieve your shoes while you are soaking your feet in the cold river waiting for him like a damsel in distress.
- Freeze dried food gets really boring after the third dinner.
- It's fun and reassuring to have an expert backpacker as your travel companion.
Just a teaser for today.
QOTD: I'll skip the bread and do turkey, avocado, tomato, cucumber, with I think what is hot sauce, otherwise mustard.
My meals yesterday:
- Epic chicken bar, edamame pouch
- Chomp stick x 2
- Beef jerky, edamame pouch
- Burrito bowl at the airport, skipped the rice
- E: 10 miles hike
Happy taco Tue!
