What's on your Thursday Menu?
That's scary and I can relate. Happy he is OK.

Jim, you might want to look at an ap called solo safe. It?s a passive app but is set up so that if a user doesn?t pick up their phone for X time (which they set), it triggers an email to their ?supporter?. I think it?s super for college students that don?t want to be tracked but have parents that worry. It?s also great for people that live alone, elderly etc

That is a terrible thing to go through. One night I stayed up until 6 AM and fell asleep until about 1:00 PM. People were calling me and I did not hear the phone. A sister who has keys finally came over and realized I was just asleep. I did tell them that sometimes I just don't want to sleep at night and not to panic if I don't answer the phone in the morning. But they were all upset and told me to do a group text if I stayed up all night again.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
G'morning all!
JB - good luck on the presentation.
Last post before I go into the wilderness. No cell reception until Monday afternoon. Because I won't be here on Friday please allow me to share these pics.
I read an article about my area and one of the strange things was this phone booth in the middle of forest. I run by this thing every other day but I never thought what is a phone doing in the middle of forest, until I read the article. Hence, I present to you "the phone"! No idea of it works or not and not planning on touching it.
I had to send a pic to Mr backpacking expert (aka DH) to make sure I am packing the right food. So you guys practically have my menu for the next 4 days. They are in column from top to bottom breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. He is bringing more snacks to make sure we have enough food. My meals are more protein -y while his are carb loaded. I just saw a video on hiking that says it's better to have more carbs while hiking, but it's too late for me.
QOTD: no favorite ball player, I hardly watch any sports.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee
- Egg bites
- Jello, cherries, cucumbers w/tajin
- Fluffy yogurt
- E: strength training
Happy almost Fri-yay!

That looks great but with all that exercise don't you think you will need more than usual for nutrient purposes? At least take a jar of Nutella if your blood sugar goes low. Enjoy your hike!

Jar of Nutella!
DH would never let me due to the jar's weight. According to him the art of backpacking is in how light is the stuff that you carry. Hence the freeze dried stuff instead of cans or jars. He is bringing nuts and some sugar/energy stuff in case we need them.
