Good article! Why is treating obesity so different than any other health issue? Your body, take care of you.

It's not any different, of course. But people make it into a moral argument.

100 years ago, when Panama Canal workers were dropping dead like flies from yellow fever, the bosses thought they were safe because they were God fearing Christians, and not heathens. Then the God fearing Christians died to.

It's health. Biology. Science. Not morality.

I was raised Catholic in the 1950's. We were told that there were seven deadly sins. Sins that were so terrible that if they were not forgiven in confession and then never committed again you would never go to Heaven. One of those sins was gluttony. That was eating more than you needed to survive and if you were fat then you were also gluttonous.

It was a sad and false teaching before people understood that obesity is a disease not a moral failing. Many people still have those old beliefs stuck in their minds and think that overeating is a sin punishable by burning in Hell.

Sadly even some doctors still have those old and false beliefs and treat patients unkindly if they are not at ideal weight.

Good Morning Queen JB and meneurs.

You sound like you had a fantastic day yesterday. All that hard schoolwork paid off. I think you may have finally found your forever Job, well at least your forever employer. I believe you landed right where you are supposed to be. Congratulations.

It has been 27 years and still not sure this is my forever job. I feel very old here, and I feel I am being pushed out the door. But the government says I am not old enough. I just got to hold on for 7 1/2 years. I wouldn't even know where to begin to get a job. I don't even think I can write a resume. I don't think I would remember all the past work experiences I had before this.

I got 10 more days till I leave, and I got to open a pool and get my mom and caretaker all organized. I wrote a list of To-Do's for my brother. If they get done 50% of the time I will be impressed. Her meds are only preventative, and vitamins so not like he will kill her in 1 week. Fingers crossed.

QOTD: I would say running but I think I am only on a hiatus. As soon as I get the time, I think I will get back to it.

Do you know the difference between a wish and a goal? They are exactly the same except a goal has a date attached to it. Start out by researching how you can run your business in Pennsylvania. Will you need to rent a commercial kitchen, or can you prepare everything at your home? There are state and local regulations to learn about.

Look into how to create a business plan. You may be able to get out of that job a lot sooner if the catering works out for you. Most people give themselves about three years to prepare and get their business productive before leaving their jobs.

I believe God puts desires into us and it is our job to develop our talents and get the things we desire. Start small with research and see where it leads.

Good morning, everybody!

Following the success of our tapas Zoom call last week, one of our friends sent out their family's enchiladas recipe and Marilyn made them last night. They came out really good, but the recipe made 12 enchiladas. I struggled to eat 1 enchilada and Marilyn had 3. Tomorrow we leave for Colorado for graduation, so today is enchilada day. If I eat 1 for lunch and 1 for dinner and Marilyn eats 3 at each sitting we can make it before we have to leave.

Tonight we are opening the blender that we got for Christmas and making margaritas. It has sat under the living room coffee table for the last 5 months, but today is the day. I don't think that it requires any assembly of anything like that, but we will need to dispose of the old blender (circa 1990) in order to find a space for it in our limited cabinets. Lisa gave me a thumbs up for the model that I chose, but probably is less impressed with us using it as a rug anchor for half a year.

I think that we will go with mango flavored, that is usually my favorite.

Today is my last day of work before vacation. I'm not that busy, but need to pack, change my out of office, etc. Also need to get a gym trip in because we are AirBnB-ing so no hotel gym.

QOTD: Not sure whether I was good at it or not, but I've changed my last diaper.

Breakfast: hash

Lunch: Enchiladas

Dinner: Enchiladas

Have a great day, all!

I have an air fryer I took out the box. I already have an air fryer that is less than a year old, but DH believed I needed a new one so there it sits. I always find the old stuff is usually better quality and find it hard to switch.

We're on our third air fryer. We wore the first two out. Outside of holidays I can't recall the last time I used the regular stove or oven for a routine meal.
