Your ability to give to others when you are going through so much is amazing. Thank you, Matt.

Mornin' All!
well another day at the movies. It's all viewing today (two films) - then I work there again tomorrow. Then..it's over. I think I'll volunteer again next year. It's been fun, and it's great getting free tickets to the movies!
I'm only at the theater this afternoon (noon-ish to 5:00-ish), so I'll either go to water aerobics or I'll bike this morning - I need the exercise. I'll stop in and see my mother this evening since it's been a couple of days.
QOTD: no - and I don't think any of the formal events I've ever been to were "black tie". Closest thing were my high school proms.
coffee with half & half
Greek yogurt with raspberries, thin slice of Danish bread with butter and jam
protein shake
protein bar between movies
not sure about dinner - maybe just a Loma Linda southwest burrito bowl
have a great day, everyone!
Good Morning! I hope the Gerd you're having to deal with gets better soon. The week seems to be moving along, my new member is set to start Monday so I'm excited to get to know him and welcome him to the team.
QOTD: Nope, I can't even remember any black tie weddings.

Good morning, everybody!
I've done the math and now I'm a little grossed out.
I guess that I kind of thought the Cicadas were going to be a national event. But yesterday, DD sent us a map indicating that Illinois, is basically in the epicenter of the Cicada invasion. There are 2 broods and the only state that will experience both broods appears to be Illinois. Most directly concerning to me is the Northern Illinois Brood, which is entirely in the northern third of Illinois. I have read that these broods have trillions of cicadas. (I actually read one article that mentioned quadrillions, but I think that was simple overexuberance - there is a pretty big difference between a trillion and a quadrillion).
So, imagine that there are a trillion cicadas. Illinois has just under 58,000 square miles . There are 640 acres in a square mile, or 1,920 1/3 of a square acre suburban home lots. I threw this into Excel and it worked out to 8,993 Cicadas per home lot. That is an awful lot of buzzing insects in my yard. Yuck.
On a cheerier note, we are going into Chicago tonight for a Bordeaux wine pairing event at a French restaurant. The menu is four courses: oysters, venison, lamb, and I think that dessert is a poached pair. Hopefully, I can get at least a few bites of each course before i fill up. Stay away from the bread tray! https://www.bistronomic.net
QOTD: My new partners meeting was a black tie event at Prague Castle in the Czech Republic. I have been to a number of events over the years, even posted a black tie picture on OH. A mix between work events, cruises and charities.
Breakfast: English muffin
Lunch: Italian Beef
Dinner: French
Have a great day, all!
