JB is wavering about not having appetizers. They seldom get eaten. I told her we can serve a cake as an appetizer. I'd rather have cake on an empty stomach than when I'm full.

Although I agree with let them eat cake first mentality, I need some protein first, otherwise I'll dump.
And I hate it that I have learned how to get around dumping when I want sugar.

Start with cheesecake...then you get a bit of protein and deliciousness. If you put fruit on top of it, it's even a fruit tray!

Mornin' All!

my weight was up 4 lbs over last week (most of which has to be water and "crap"), but still.. It's the heaviest I've been since pre-surgery. Unfortunately, I have lunch out today and my sister wants to order pizza for dinner (at my mom's). May have to order soup for lunch and I don't know about dinner - stick to one piece, I guess (although 1-2 pieces is my norm "anyway", so...). God I hate this constant battle..

we spent a chunk of yesterday afternoon with Mom's insurance broker. We've got her on a much more reasonably-priced plan now, but she's so confused about everything. The only thing that's changing is her eye doctors (both types), but she still seems really stressed out about all of this. Although I know change can be hard for elderly folks. My sister seems to think my mom will do fine after she (sis) goes home at the end of next week, but I don't know. She seems confused all the time. Hopefully it's just some temporary thing as the result of the accident. If not, I'm not sure what we'll do. I wish this wasn't all happening so soon after my MIL's death. This past year (starting last March, when MIL first got really sick) has been awful.

QOTD: I've been retired for the last four years, so I can't really remember. I can be up and out the door in 30 minutes, but I prefer to take my time. I don't really like to schedule anything before 9:00, even though I'm often up by 6:00. Coffee, breakfast, email, Facebook, OH, (digital) newspaper reading, online games (Wordle, Worldle (these first two are two different games), Waffle, Redactle, Globle, Globle Capitals, crossword puzzle). After all that, I'm ready to roll!

coffee with half & half

Greek yogurt

protein shake

soup

more Greek yogurt (?)

one piece of pizza

ex: I'd better do it. If nothing else, I can go over to the gym and pedal a bike for an hour - but I'll check to see what all is going on - and what the weather forecast is.

have a great day, everyone!

If your mom is in pain and/or on pain meds, retaining the changes and details might be too much for her. She might need a bit more repetition or to hold updates until she's feeling better? There's science behind retention issues and other stressors like illness/hunger/pain/shock so she might need a little grace for a bit.

Good morning ~ WTG on the treadmill and your super productive day! Yesterday I forgot about a 3 hour interactive training in the morning so it threw off my plan for the day. It worked out fine and I was knocking things all day. Today is fixing a mess from Monday. It has my undivided attention today, so it should resolve and then a standing meeting with my boss.

QOTD - 45-60 minutes to shower/wash and do my hair, 30 minutes shower/no wash or hair up days, and 5 minutes if just to workout, walk the dogs or running to the store. I prefer a leisurely morning as well. I get up at 4am to do just that. I feed all the fur babies, make coffee, OH, MFP, calendar, emails then I hit the ground running. This is where I want to fit workouts back in to my schedule and possibly go into work later. I need to figure that out. Clearly, the leisurely morning ranks higher than workout time but I need both in my life.

Accountability - 2 string cheese and a 2 salty new york garlic bagel chips w/garlic cheese. omg do I adore this combo. 184 today

b- coffee, cottage cheese, tomatoes and EBB

l - turkey and cheese on toasted protein bread w/let/tom/pickle

d - last of the leftover chili w/cheese and onions

s - sm apple, strawberries with whip

Wanted to thank you for the Finn crisp mention. I ordered the caraway one and they are delicious! I will eventually try the others.

Happy to hear that! Only 20 cals for a big tasty cracker. I usually get the original sourdough rye, but love the caraway one too.

Good Morning! It sounds like a productive day. I had a few phone screens, a few meetings and continuing on with projects so it went by decently.

QOTD: I get up three hours before I leave the house during the week. That allows time for my workout, clean up, get ready (hair and makeup), put my lunch in my bag and cut my fruit, put the dishes away, wipe down the counters, make/sip coffee and post.

TSS: 9 years 7 months

B: SF latte, Fiber/protein oatmeal, turkey sausage, and an orange

L: Turkey and cheese sticks, carrots, light and fit yogurt and some fruit

S: Protein puffs, a piece of fruit and yogurt

D: TBD

ES: yogurt and toast

E: Treadmill

V/W: On track

Totals: TBD

Have a great day!
