Happy Saturday, what's the plan today?
on 2/17/24 2:20 am - Amarillo, TX
Good mornin y'all! It's the start of a long weekend for most of us! Hope it started well for you.
Not a whole lot planned. We're going to Sam's to get a dessert for tomorrow. I don't know what I'll pick out. I know my mom wants me to get cheesecake so I'll probably get the mini ones if they have em. Also some cookies as I don't think the two of the three kids will eat the cheesecakes with the toppings they come with. Such pickiness! Pizza is still the plan.
I'm still dealing with the remnants of the flu and I am HIGHLY ANNOYED with it. At least the cough is better.
QOTD: what is your least favorite musical instrument to hear being played?
Accordion here. Hands down. I loathe it. Esp when used in polka type music.
B: eggs, cheese, 4 crackers and coffee x 2
L: chicken thigh and some green beans
D: ?????

Good Morning! I am about to get dressed and plan to be the first one at Target when the doors open this morning :) After our trips to Lowes and Home Depot yesterday we figured out that curtains will be a better option than blinds, so hopefully I will find something nice there.
QOTD: I like the violin as part of an orchestra, but on its own it's too screechy for me.
I am so bored with food (even the bad stuff). I just went onto The World According to Eggface's website which I honestly haven't looked at in 4 years. It's no longer being updated, but all her old recipes are still there and I am going to try to get some inspiration and make a plan :) Just thought I would share in case anyone else is looking for new / old ideas.

I always forget about her page! I feel like I get stuck on the same foods. I need inspiration, thanks for the reminder!

Good morning! I sitting on a bench killing time
before starting my bike tour, I already have 14,777 steps today which means I will be ready to chill out on a plane for a very long time tomorrow. I spent the morning at the Anne Frank house which was very emotional. For breakfast I had a parts of traditional Dutch pancake with bacon and cheese (I'm not sure how traditional it was but it was listed under traditional options), with a Dutch coffee. The coffee included eggnog which I thought would be like the creamer..nope, it was a shot. Fascinating and yum.
qotd - I did not care for the music when we saw the whirling dervishes in Turkey - I think they were zither and reed flute.
have a great Saturday!

I did a bike tour when I was in Copenhagen. It was fun and I'm really glad I did it, but it was tricky when we went through the older, touristy areas. The streets there were cobblestone which made for a very bumpy ride, and dodging the crowds was tricky - esp since I wasn't on my own bike (a new-to-you-bike is similar to driving a new-to-you-car). I'm glad the tour guide waited up for the rest of us at different points, because I know I would have lost him otherwise!!
you probably know this, but Copenhagen was modeled after Amsterdam. One of the kings of Denmark loved Amsterdam, so he redesigned the city to resemble it (the older part of the city, of course...)

That coffee set up looks delish! And a mini stroopwaffle? Perfect!

Given what brought us all together, who hasn't had a stroopwaffle emergency or something like it?
