I'm surprised at how many of you were allowed to go home for lunch. Once the morning bell sounded, we weren't going anywhere.

QOTD- I mostly took my lunch, and it was probably too healthy.

My roommate got a job that hopefully will last more than a day. He has to go back to Utah for a 1 week class. They are giving him a rental car since he refuses to fly with his legs jammed into the seat in front of him. He'll be gone for a week and then be on the road. If he is out for 18 days he gets 3 days off. So I probably won't be seeing him very often. His latest girlfriend is still in the house, she came over on Monday and will leave today. She works Weds- Sat at a residential drug rehab facility. She's an RN. She seems nice enough.

My Fitbit One is no longer holding a charge, I have another one that I'm using. I also have a couple of Fitbit Flex 2's that I used to have a magnetic holder for, that I can no longer find and I can't locate one on Ebay. I don't wear a watch and don't like to wear anything on my wrist, so if these die I'm not sure what I will do. Apparently there are a couple of them that you can get a 3rd party carrier for, so if I need to buy a new one I'll try one of those.

I'm watching Prime Suspect on Britbox and I cringe at all of the smoking in it. I know it was the early 90's but it just amazes me how much things have changed, for the better. I used to work in an office that allowed smoking and it was awful, I liked working in the equipment room as there was no smoking allowed due to the electronics. Back then it was Pacific Northwest Bell.

My roommate gave me flowers for Valentines, really nice.

Have a great day everyone!

I worked with this girl once who was really outspoken. She had a sign on her desk that said something like "If you must make this place stink, just fart instead of spreading cancer with your cigarette smoke". Offices used to be so full of smoke and I came home everyday smelling like an ashtray.

My last Fitbit One died. I bought one off ebay that they put a new battery in. 6 months later, the battery only holds a charge for 2 days, and is going downhill fast.

Good morning! Whether it's Valentine's, Galentine's or Palentine's day for you, I wish you a sweet one! Roger and I got each other small things, and nothing contained calories. Yay. Though I did get him the presses to make ravioli, so I see that might happen in my near future.

I was very good on all accounts yesterday. Ended up bailing on the gym, it was just too pretty. 40 min yoga work out at home followed by a 45 min walk nailed my movement goals. I also bailed on making dinner. I was dying for a taco! So I volunteered to run over and get them. I got one crispy beef taco, one chili relleno and double beans. I ate 3/4's of the taco, and two bites of beans and was done. Roger was like "I thought you were starving for tacos?". I was, but my pouch got full way too fast for my mouth. Not sure if that's a dammit or a yay.

Today we are off to have Roger's Inspire implant activated. Very excited for me about that. He didn't even need to get me a V-day trinket, this is hopefully going to be the gift that keeps on giving! I'm going to hit up the Y and get in my favorite aqua fit class first. I'll have time to come home, shower, heat up some left overs for lunch and then we are on the way to make Rog Robo Dude #2. Robo Dude #1 is the new automatic vacuum mop buddy we got.

QoTD: Weirdly, I have zero memory for this until Junior High. So I do not know.

Menu today

B: egg cottage cheese bake

L: leftover chicken artichoke stew

D: I've got a single rib prime rib roast and I'm making bacon wrapped potato roses. I'll post a photo if they turn out.

Peace Everybody.

I can't wait to hear how Inspire - night 1 goes! I just saw a commercial for this - the lady at the end yells 'Yeah I got an implant, Sheila' all snarky, lol. It cracked me up.

G'morning all!

Happy V day to all of you.

After all of my excitement about kids coming home this weekend, yesterday DS dropped a mini bomb in our lap. He has a mid term on Tuesday and he was stressing about coming home. The original plan was for him to drive up and drive back down because he wanted to take the very heavy mattress cooler we got for him. According to him he sleeps really hot in SD and it is affecting his sleep. So now instead of driving up Thursday night and going back on Monday mid day, he is flying up late Friday and flying back early Monday. I'll take that, even 2 days is better than nothing. I'm actually impressed that he is stressed about his midterm, usually he is as cool as a cucumber.

QOD: with the recent QODs I think I'm coming across like Sophia in Golden girls "picture it, Sicily 1912". So, in Italy we went to school 6 days a week, including Sat, but our hours were shorter 8:30-1:30 and no real lunch break. Our longer break was just for a snack that usually you brought in from home. Then you would go home for lunch. But I can tell you with my kids we would look at the menu offered and they would choose the day they wanted to eat at the cafeteria. DD did it only the first year and then opted for lunches from home. DS never wanted the cafeteria food. DD says she was embarrassed about the Italian food I would send her to school with in a thermos, instead of the usual pb sandwich with chips most kids had. But now she says looking back she is happy she had different food than her classmates. DS wouldn't eat anything else but PB sandwiches so that's all I packed for him, with veggies and fruit. They both complained they never had a cookie in their lunch box.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Egg bites
  • Shredded pork with Legendary protein chips
  • Fage yogurt, manchego cheese
  • Innards of taco tue
  • E: 5 miles wog

Happy hump day!
