^^This one is for Grim ;) ^^

Good Morning and Happy Monday! I survived my weekend classes. They went well, despite a total freak-out on Friday night when I realized I forgot some things and had to scramble and make more stuff. But it all worked out and the classes were great. Today is all about clean up and maybe some napping because I was a complete ball of stress all weekend.

Not trying to call Grim out but.....he went to the grocery store like a drunk, hungry, 5 year old with a credit card yesterday. My kind of guy. He came home with everything yummy that is sold in a grocery store. Last night, I made myself a piece of pizza and then poured a big bowl of Smartfood, and then Grim handed me a cookie. Unfortunately, my pouch was not onboard with this plan, she closed right up. I spent the majority of the Super Bowl moaning on the couch, feeling very sorry for myself.

But the good news is that we are getting a big old winter storm tonight so we are more than prepared for getting shut in for a few days. Good job, Grim!

QOTD: What's the level of filter between your brain and your mouth? I am generally very good about not saying what I think when it's not nice or appropriate, but I feel like I am super rusty about being in a professional setting. I am legit worried about remembering not to say everything I think when I go back to work! I am so feral right now, lol.

I really have no idea how I am going to navigate allllll the treats in the house today. I just need to remember how miserable I felt last night and try to stick with tiny bites and moderation. But my major plan is outlined here.

  • protein coffee
  • egg
  • pizza
  • veggie burger

Good morning and happy Monday! My first flight was uneventful, which is how I like it. I cat napped about three hours, pretended like I slept in until 7 local time and I'm just hanging out by the window waiting for my next flight and getting all the grey German daylight. My short sleeping cycles come in handy with adjusting to 8 hours ahead, I'm lucky that way.

I watched American Fiction on my flight and it was excellent. Highly recommend!

So far today I've had two coffees and an egg-ham-bagel thing and I've got my 30 active minutes walking the airport. I'll get a walk in once I get to my hotel too so exercise check. Yay Monday!

qotd - in the workplace I'm super filtered and professional. I've worked hard for it though, early in my career I had a 360 that called out my lack of poker face so I made it a point, now people say they can't tell what I'm thinking, lol. In real life, not so much of the filter or poker face.

Have a magnificent Monday!

I would go for one of those pretzels if you are in Frankfurt. Happy the first leg was uneventful.

I evidently missed a post (or two) recently (not surprising since we've been so busy that I missed a day or two here and there). Is Germany your final destination? Where all are you going? I can't wait to travel abroad again!! (and we (as in DH and I) probably can - as long as my mom's health holds out!!)

Glad the trip had started out well and I hope the rest of the day does too.

I can totally relate to the professional poker face. When I started in corporate America, I watched multiple people get fired for not having a filter and coming off as inconsiderate or offensive. I tidying up my word choice and phrasing around the workplace then. I overcorrected that I didn't let my true personality shine through. I'm still trying to find a happy medium.

Happy to hear the 360 helped you! We have done these for upper management already and now they are looking to do them for middle - me. I'm not sure I'm prepared to hear the real deal about myself from staff but you don't know what you don't know - growth.

It can be tough but you almost always can tell who the commenters are, even though it's anonymous, so you can discard anyone with an axe to grind. I've probably had 4 in my career and I've "fixed" something out of each of them so I think it's good!
