What's on your Monday Menu?
Good morning! Home from a fabulous weekend. We have rain! And it cancelled my HITT class and I was so excited about that last night. But not so much when I stepped on the scale this morning. Ha! So today I will go to the gym for cardio and weights and I will cook good food and fuel my body. Roger is improving daily (the surgery recovery has been a bit rough. Not horrible, just rough) and he thinks he'll go to the gym with me for light cardio. He's been sitting since last Wednesday. Need to get moving. And on that note, I'm acknowledging that I did NOT meet my two mini goals last week and that it was because I choose not too. No excusing. I was being a slug. Back at it today.
QoTD: I almost always have socks and lace up sneakers on. I need the support. Sometimes late in the day I will move to slippers, but usually a good pair of sneaks are on my feet.
Menu today...
B: 1 fried egg and leftover spaghetti squash/feta/tomato bake
L: 1 slice protein bread, shaved deli turkey, tomatoes and a few pop chips for crunch
D: either stuffed flank steak and roasted sweet potato or butternut squash gnocchi and unexpectedly cheddar sausage. I like having options.
Peace Everybody

Happy Monday-
QJB-sending positive thoughts your way on the interviews. Good luck.
Saturday, DD and i went to the movie Anyone But You. It was ok, a rom-com. I would recommend waiting for it to come out streaming. Yesterday was a total me day with a facial (peel alternative) and massage. My back is still bothering me. I did a Yin class yesterday at yoga (stretching) that did not help the back situation. I will take the week off from yoga and lifting. Just some walking, which does seem to help the back a bit. I will try to get into a chiropractor this week. We have a really great one who is willing to do more than just crack the back. Today I will take DD to an orthotic appt. She has one leg that is about 1/2 inch longer than the other. This causes her back pain. Then I will meet up with a friend at Starbucks to catchup. I haven't seen her in about a year.
QOTD: socks. Before the foot drop issue I also wore crocks for the cushioning due to hardwood floors. Now the crocks make me a bit unstable on my feet since they want to slip off the foot.
E: 30-60 minutes treadmill
F: per usual for Short Bowel Syndrome, trying to get in 2500 calories.

Good Morning Queen JB and Meneurs,
That is so cool that you have 3 opportunities. I'd be honest and tell #1 I have another opportunity and can't make this decision without looking at all my options. I would feel more comfortable if you gave me to Friday to get back to you. I do understand you need to get this position filled so I will understand if you need to offer it to someone else before I can make a decision I can live with. Or take it an F-em when the other opportunity works out. LOL Either way best of luck with all of it.
So, I bought new nail polish from OPI that does not require those lights that can cause cancer. It is supposed to last 2 weeks. I stopped getting Gel nails after seeing folks getting cancer from the UV lights. If it is a special occasion yes but not every 2 weeks. I put it on Friday, and it is all peeled off already. OK to be fair I did not read the directions so I many have had to ruff my nails or use Nail polish remover to remove any oils. I guess I'll read it and try it one more time.
Weekend was super cold and snowy. We got over 8' that is a lot for us. Rudy was not happy. To get him to go out to do his business was not easy. It was so cold on his little paws I don't blame him. He does have shoes, but he cannot corollate that if he wears them no matter how uncomfortable he's feet wouldn't get cold. We did have one accident glad it was a hard surface and not any rug. Saturday, they canceled the crazy 8 class and said I could do a cycle class at 8:30 instead I opted out and baked cookies and did mom duty. Pretty much the weekend was spent in the kitchen cooking meals and cookies. We have a Potluck today, so I made a big crock pot of homemade Italian sausage. I see a lot of great options that are protein forward.
QOTD: It's socks for my but this time of year I got cabin socks.
Accountability: No exercise and I ate one of those Crumble knockoff ultimate Peanut butter cookies.

G'morning all!
QJB - good luck on all fronts, may the odds be ever in your favor. Be a shark!
It's been raining non stop and DH is actually worried about commuting to work. There is a hill between the coast and Silicon Valley that when it rains it follows by mudslides and bad accidents due to the windy road. Infact last night on my way home there was a bad one with tons of fire trucks on the opposite way of my commute.
QOD: during cold months I wear Ugg slippers, and warm months I wear those cloud slippers. I never walk barefoot around the house. I think it comes from the fact that in Europe most houses are tile floor (and not carpet wall to wall).
My meals yesterday: (on the road)
- Coffee
- Roux chicken
- Barebells bar
- Quest protein chips
- Legendary chips
- Protein smoothie
- Cal: 980 Protein: 143 Water: not enough
- E: rest day Steps:4,617
Happy start of the week!
