What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Good morning, everybody!
I looked in the cupboard and we have leftover crescent rolls from Christmas. Clearly they need to be thrown away, but I don't think the crescent rolls have ever made it through a meal uneaten, much less through a couple of weeks in the drawer.
When we had the "what are you reading?" QOTD a week or so ago, I said that I had a Folio Society book about World War 2, but couldn't remember what it was. It's called Operation Mincemeat and there is a movie on Netflix that is based on the book. It's about the disinformation campaign building up to the invasion of Sicily in 1943. I am about halfway through the book and we did watch the movie. I thought both were good.
I made our restaurant reservations for Las Vegas. Despite it being Super Bowl weekend there were a number of spots available, so we are all set. We will just grab a sandwich or something for lunch on Saturday.
I have never been to White Castle. We have lived in Chicago for about 25 years, but didn't grow up here. For Hot Dogs and Fries, I would go to Portillo's and for Burgers just to a family owned place in our home town. The Wall Street Journal used to annually post a recipe for a White castle slider stuffed turkey the day before Thanksgiving.
I registered for the Crossfit Open last night. It starts on February 29th. I think that this is my fifth year doing it. I will be happy when it starts, but also happy when it ends. The Friday Night Lights sessions at our gym are fun.
QOTD1: Much to my surprise, I can't really remember this happening. It seems like most of the social events that we are at are either Pot Luck types of things or at restaurants. Plus I like most foods except mayonnaise and raw onions.
QOTD2: I generally only interview law school students. When I interview people, I always ask them to describe a project or assignment that they had in their academic work. I need them to show me that they have gained some depth of knowledge in the areas in which they have worked. I am less concerned about things they haven't seen, but if they can't converse about something that they worked in directly that is a red flag for me.
Breakfast: bagel
Lunch: Roast Beef

Have a great day, all!

I'm sure that they gaze longingly at the breads that are in faster rotation.

Good Morning! I'm glad you're able to stay home and safe today. Eekkk that's exciting job news- I hope these meetings/interviews go well. Em came by with her cat to visit last night- my heart is happy even though I had seen her Sunday it was nice to have the time to just sit and talk. I might have to have a few emotionally tough work related conversations today and I am nervous about them.
QOTD 1: Luckily I don't run into that scenario often but I might take a few small bites and then the rest move my food the plate so it looks like I'm eating.
