Happy New Year OH friends! What's on your menu?

I think he has a new one on the Astors too. His co-writer on both books is Katherine Howe who is one of the few historical fiction authors I seek out new books by. I loved her Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and the Daughters of Temperance Hobb.

Omg, I totally missed the Astors release! I'm all over it now. I will check out Howe's other work as well.

They did a fitness program at work last year and said the 10K goal is made up. It's more important to move every hour you're at a desk and they used 7K as the "success" for steps...and that can come in actual steps or actual movement.
My New Year's resolutions are
- 1,000 miles on the cardio equipment
- Weekly Weights
- Weekly Pilates
- Try Pickleball (I signed up for a beginners season that starts in February)
- Keep my duolingo streak going (I'm at 425 days, I finished the entire Finnish course so have moved on to refreshing my Spanish)
- Keep my Dribble up streak going (This is my weights/boxing/weighted ball program, I'm at 91 weeks) so it's very tied to #2
- Put extra power in the basement
- Put up shade for the back deck
- Decide on and get the matching bestie tattoos my BFF and I have been talking about
It's a lot put I feel it's a good mix of tactical things that I've been putting off, fitness goals that will keep me motivated throughout the year. I'm very tasked oriented, lol

I agree with 10k being made up number. The only times I've ever hit 10k was when tourist walking or with very long hikes. My average M-F is currently 3500 and S-S is 6500 so my new goals will be an improvement.
Your goals sound perfect for you!
You'll like pickleball, it's fun!

I've been learning Swedish on Duolingo for the past few weeks. I guess there's really not a huge need since English is widely spoken there, but still, it's one of my ancestral languages, and I'd like to be able to converse at least a little in Swedish next time I go there. And do things like read signs (although most of those have English translations, too...)

I've always tried to learn a few words wherever I go, if nothing else it amuses the locals when I try, lol.

188 to start the year! Amy, you really put in so much work and discipline in 2023 to set yourself up with a great foundation for 24!

Good morning all. We had a low-key NYE. We watched When Harry Met Sally, which is one of the few New Years movies I can think of. We were still in bed by 8:30, though I did wake her up at midnight.
QOTD: I don't follow new music anymore. I mostly listened while driving, and I don't drive much these days. I don't get too anxious about books. I always have a list of books I'm going to read, so I don't add unpublished works to the tally.
