Mornin y'all! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Nothing much going on here today. Basically chainmaille work.
my foot is feeling better. If it's not marketably better tomorrow I am calling my PCP. The clinics urgent care is closed today for the holiday.
QOTD: do you have any new music or books you're looking forward to this year or in the next few months?
I am unsure on this one. I am listening to Atreyu's newest album a lot so I really don't know what's coming out soon. I am sure there is. Green Day has a new one coming out soon that I am interested in.
food is all leftovers.

Mornin' All!
well I blew it with the damn trail mix at MIL's apt yesterday. Again. I'm glad the stuff is almost gone (of course, I COULD have just tossed it...). We don't really want to do much more over there until we meet with the attorney tomorrow, but we have leftover Chinese food there (from yesterday's lunch - a friend brought it over), so we'll go. We'll find things to do. For instance, her underwear drawer. I don't think I've ever seen underwear in the second hand shops around here, and I think it'd be kind of gross anyway. I, for one, a second-hand shopper, draw the line at swimsuits and underwear. So I guess we'll just toss it. She has some really nice looking underwear, though! We can also go through her storage unit. We gave the Chinese-food-bringing friend her office chair yesterday. A very nice, Steelcase chair that's only a couple of years old. We have the same chair, only in a different color, and we didn't need a second. There are several nice furniture pieces that we'll need to sell, give away to friends, or donate - we just don't have the room in our house.
QOTD: I bought Liz Cheney's new book but had only read a couple of chapters when my MIL died, so I haven't picked it up since. So that for sure.
I was going to say I have no idea about food. But I'd better get an idea RIGHT NOW so I don't overdo it again today. So here goes:
B: coffee with half & half. Skyr with cranberry sauce (I might make a chaffle to plop this on. I made chaffles a lot my first couple of years post-surgery, but never since)
MS: protein shake (but only if needed)
L: Chinese food
AS: hummus with baby carrots (if needed)
D: Indian lentil curry
have a great day, everyone!
I never donate underwear because I read once that no matter how poor a person is they do not want used underwear. However when I was in high school there was a girl who used to give me her used clothing and I remember her giving me really nice bras and I appreciated that.

You'd probably have to research what's near you but there are places that take intimates in good condition for donation and even more that take them for recycling/sale for funds that support the organization.

Happy New Year! I love the first day of the year...and it being the first day of the week and the first day of the month makes it even more fresh and exciting. Great time to set yourself up for a wonderful 2024!
QoTD - the second part of the Dune movie, the finale of the Red Rising book series, Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange, the new Erik Larson book, Supercommunicators by Charles Duhigg, American Fiction movie, there's an Amor Towles short story collection and a new Stephen King one, The Life Impossible by Matt Haig and Oracle by Thomas Olde Heuvault. I have a pre order books list and right now it has about 25 books being released in 2024 that I want to read...and that doesn't count all the ones I don't know about yet.
I hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning 2024!!! I hope everyone had a nice evening. Ours was celebrated watching murder shows while enjoying a bottle of wine we received for Christmas. Not sure why we didn'****ch any NYE shows, but I was happy and in bed by 9:05. I don't love that I have always broken my resolutions, but I want to set the new year up for success so I'll make them anyway. Just two, very realistic exercise goals where I resolve to be consistent.
- Lift weights: 1x a week. In my soul I want it to be 3x and I will work up to that but I can easily commit to 1x.
- Step goals: 5k M-F, 8k S/S - this is higher than my average. 10k daily is not realistic for me. Walking around the block or hopping on the treadmill to meet this goal is very doable in my book.
That's it, nothing complicated or overwhelming because that is what always stops me. I have some personal and work goals as well. Today, we are taking the dogs to the park for a longer than our usual walk to get some extra steps. I want to organize my workout room since it's still a Xmas wrapping station and clear the deck for a work out tomorrow. I may binge watch Gilded Age today - I'm so behind on this season. I'm looking forward to football being over so we can do more hiking together.
QOTD - I have no clue. I'm usually on the lookout for the latest by so and so, but not in a while.
Accountability - Special planned treat, 2 good sized glasses of wine last night. 188.6 to start the year.
B- coffee x 2
L smash burger - 96/4 gr beef and 25cal low carb tortilla, burger toppings, incredible - same as last night. What did I do before tik tok?
d- baked chicken, stuffing, green beans
s - protein pudding, beef jerky

Have a wonderful day!!!

I think I'm about there, too. I love this era. Have you read Anderson Cooper's Vanderbilt? It's quite good.
