What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Good morning, everybody!
I ran out to Costco on Saturday afternoon to get groceries and I forgot to wear a belt. I got distracted while I was getting dressed, saw a belt on the floor, remembered I needed one, but then got distracted again. Hopped in my car, drove to the gas station, hopped out of my car, and as I was tucking in my shirt realized no belt.
Now, Uncle Billy forgot a lot of things (like depositing the $8,000). So he devised a trick to help him remember - strings tied around his fingers. Pre-Surgery I had a somewhat similar trick for remembering to wear a belt. My huge belly, scrawny (comparatively) legs and no butt would push my pants down until they were practically around my ankles. It would take about 6 steps. There is no way that i could have made it out of the house without noticing. And if I somehow did, I would have had to turn around and go home. Because Costco would be spent with one hand on the shopping cart and one hand on the waist of my pants holding them off the floor.
But fortunately, I'm here with you guys now. So I filled my car with gas and went to Costco and got my stuff. Then changed back into sweatpants.
Big OH goings on. I think that me, Marilyn and Matt are going to go to the Price is Right traveling edition in Chicago on March 2nd. I still need to get the tickets, but Matt says that he is in. I am 100% sure that a Matt will be called to Come On Down!
DD's plane was delayed on Christmas Eve, so we didn't get back from the airport until about 11:15. No matter, it was worthwhile to have all three home at the same time. And we had our Christmas Eve sushi before I headed out to the airport.
QOTD: My older son wants to exchange a wallet for a different model. They are some high tech brand that I don't understand. He also wants to go to Kendra Scott to get a necklace for his girlfriend. I'm going to tag along because Orvis is losing their lease and having a clearance sale. Thursday I will go to Brooks Brothers to see if they are having an after Christmas clearance.
Breakfast: donut if we are being honest
Lunch and dinner: leftovers from Christmas (Mac and cheese, Lamb, green bean casserole, peas and mashed potatoes)
Back to Crossfit today after a two day break.
Have a great day, all!

Good morning all and welcome to the least productive week of the year,
I think I figured out the perfect Christmas. On Christmas, I didn't have to deal with the crazy chaos at Chinese restaurants. I picked up Chinese food the night before. snuggled up to the obvious Christmas movies, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, and had Chinese like a good Jew.
QOTD- I received one fleece that is too small. However, it will cause resentment and will be construed as rejection if I ask for a receipt. I will probably keep it and hope I'll fit into it eventually.
B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.
L: Home-made gyros and pita (not made in my home).
D: rack of lamb. Spinach. For those interested, a whole Halal Lamb is only $2500 at Costco. Run to get yours today!
HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

Last week I heard Adam Sandler play the Hanukah song for the first time in a few years. I was laughing audibly in my car.

Mornin' All!
Christmas was OK I guess - although that's how they normally are these days. It's never quite "the thing" as it was when I was a kid (probably true of most of us!). We had dinner over at MIL's. She basically had the TV blaring the whole time and we ate in front of it - but then, she really can't move very well, and she's usually hooked up to an oxygen machine, so she sits in her chair unless she's on the toilet or in bed. She watches all these crazy shows on TLC. My mother asked me a few times if we could turn on the news (my mother is a CNN junkie), but I sort of blew her off since we were at MIL's apartment, so whatever was on the tube was up to MIL. Both of them are hard of hearing, so we did a lot of loud talking and repeating to one what the other had said. DH took my mother home after a couple of hours since she was tired (and probably wanted to watch the news instead of "Shark Tank", which was what was on when she decided she wanted to go home), which was fine, because I could tell she wasn't having a very good time. MIL's home health aid was there the whole time. She's a law student at the university and does this in her spare time. She's from Gambia but has been in the US for 15 years. Very nice, bright and interesting woman. I enjoyed talking with her.
QOTD: No - because we didn't exchange any gifts!
both moms wanted some of the lasagna, and we brought some home as well. Plus salad. We left the cookies we'd brought over to MIL with her, but we still have a lot in our freezer at home (and they will stay in the freezer, since I don't want them lying around here easily accessible, since I need to watch it this week!). So we'll be having lasagna and salad for dinner the next couple of days.
B: coffee with half & half
MS: probably skyr with cranberry sauce
L: standard salad with grilled chicken strips
AS: ?? maybe a protein muffin
D: small piece of lasagna an some of the Michigan salad I'd made for Christmas (with diced apple, dried cherries, pecans, and a maple vinaigrette)
I missed water aerobics since I got up too late. I'm sure a lot of the normal classes at my gym are cancelled this week since a lot of people are out of town, hosting guests, or have young children at home this week, so I'll probably end up going on a long walk this afternoon.
have a great day, everyone!
QOTD- No too old for gifts, if I want it I usually buy it for myself.
I saw Aquaman on Saturday, my advice don't waste your time. It was just OK, and long and overly slow.
I went to my Mom's yesterday for Christmas and ended up trying to help her deposit a check. First she couldn't remember the pin to her phone. Then we tried the scanner and apparently the quality was not good enough for them to accept it. Then I tried my phone and they wouldn't take that either. So I deposited it into my account and was going to transfer it to her and I have to wait for the bank to verify the account. I will get it to her, but what a pain. Plus my Mom keeps the house at a temp that makes me sweat, and in her office she needs to close the vent so it doesn't get so hot. Good thing I layered and had on a short sleeved t-shirt. But I was still sweating... She gave me a clapper for Christmas...
One of my roommates women, I don't know what else to call them because he has so many. They aren't truly girlfriends. Any way this one I think is a keeper. She sent home a Christmas present for me and a couple for the cats. She asked him to marry her but I'm not sure about that. I haven't met her yet, she lives in California and is eventually going to move back up here. She was taking care of her mother, who is now gone.
I need to get back to work.
Have a great day everyone!
