'Allo mates! Happy Boxing Day!

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday :) Our holiday weekend was great and totally exhausting. Friday, I spent the day with extended family. Saturday, I cleaned and prepped. Sunday, I spent the day with mom for her birthday, followed by a Christmas Eve party with friends. And yesterday we hosted the whole crew (my family & Grim's family) for Christmas dinner. So fun!

I literally collapsed after everyone left last night and I plan to lay low all day :) I need to take Grim to PT at 8am, but otherwise I intend to stay completely still and very quiet, haha.

QOTD: Do you need to return any gifts? Nope! I did get a sweater that I haven't tried on yet, so there is a chance it won't fit. But I am willing to change my body size before I got into a return line, lol.

I'm not going to lie--we have a TON of food left over and I shoved it all into Tupperware last night without really taking an inventory. I don't know what we have and I certainly have not made any kind of plan. I also did not start the day with a fast--I've already had my protein coffee and I am not mad about it :)

Mornin y'all. Hoping you all had a good Christmas.

I've got to change how I do gifts. I always get my feelings hurt because it seems my family doesn't know me. I'll leave it there. It didn't help that I only got like two hours of sleep the night before.

No big plans for the day. Hoping for a nap or two. I've been freezing all night. I had my heated blanket cranked up pretty high. I at least broke the streak of being sick on Christmas lol. We have a lot of leftover food but thankfully my brother took home a lot too. The banana pudding was the best and the healthiest too. I might do a load of laundry.

QOTD: not this year. I got a set of pajamas and two coffee cups and the pajamas fit. I'm with you on return lines. They are nuts!

food will be mostly leftovers. Breakfast was unfortunately a piece of lemon pie.

Gifting is the complication that makes Christmas less fun than thanksgiving for sure.

I agree with Jen, it does complicate the holiday. My parents/siblings all stopped the adult gift exchange about 20 years ago and it was a huge relief. We did it for birthdays too and made it a funny card contest. We all bought for the kids though, just no adults. I never missed the gifts, not once.

I think we'll be doing that this coming year. Or at least i'Ll suggest we do it.

same with our family. Trying to figure out what to buy a bunch of people age 50+ who are more interested in getting RID of stuff that accumulating even more was getting to be pretty stressful for everyone. So for a couple of years we went to gift certificates only. But that turned out to be a pretty stupid idea, too, because we were all just exchanging one gift certificate for another ("here's your $50 Amazon gift certificate!" "Oh thanks! And here's your $50 one to Target!"). So we just gave up. A big meal with the family was so much easier on everyone - and much more enjoyable without that "gift stress"!

Good morning~ Just reading your post makes me want to collapse! I had a lot going on, but the only pressure I had was what I put on myself. Everything went beautifully and would have been even without all my gilding of lilies to make it perfection. Next year, I will relax and remember this, I hope. DS's girlfriend is just lovely and we absolutely adore her! She came with us to dinner at my sisters and she fit right in there as well. It was so lovely and I'm tired. I'm so happy to be staying home! The list of errands I need to run today is growing when I really should be WFH all day! I may just work a half day - compromise, right?

QOTD - One of the errands is an exchange a belt I got for Rob that is too small. I don't know why I bought that size. I'm hoping it's not that big of a deal if I get there right when they open, it should go fast, right? If it's bad/packed, I may just buy the new belt and return the other one later.

Accountability - I enjoyed everything! 190.6 this am

Just get the important works things done and flex around the rest! It's going to be a weird 4 days with the mix of people off, I think, lol.
