Good morning ~ I hope you are feeling better soon! Yesterday, was back to back busy, and good productive blur. My appt with WLS went okay. I was surprised to learn they have my goal weight at 150 for revision... so I am over 50% there, she said. I just can't see myself at 150 again, but maybe it will different this time. I have some serious ED memories getting to 150 the first time - obsessive starvation, muscle wasting... It was bad. I will never restrict like that again. I need to keep my RMR up as I lose with resistance training, 3x a week and also for muscle and bone health too. Anyway, my goals are: feeling good, physical and mental health and quality of life in maintenance, not necessarily a number on the scale. And she wants me to up my protein to 90g per day.

QOTD - I always have coffee, TP, PT, Kleenex (standard costco order) and rarely if ever run out. Also hoarding Jordan's salted caramel skinny sauce for my coffee, I have at least 8 bottles in the cupboard and buy more every time i see it at Walmart. I'm all over the inventory of dog/cat food so we are always good there. I'm obsessive about running out of things in general - it only takes once to set off my 'and check that, too' radar for good.

Accountability - spot on, no candy or cookies! 191.2 this morning.

b- coffee x 4

l - Christmas potluck - gonna roll today - be careful, not obsess

D - leftovers, there's a plenty o' good choices in the fridge

s -beef jerky

cals/pro TBD

e- I need to get my **** together here

v/w - good

Have a great day!

Amy, you are doing great and I agree with your goal. I look back to my initial loss and my low was 178 ( Normal BMI for my height) F' Normal BMI!!!! I was a bag of bones with no muscle and my wife was very concerned. I did not stay at 178 for long. Now it is about feeling good, being healthy and trying to stay off meds. Keep up the great progress and settle in to what makes you happy!

Thank you! Bag o' bones is a perfect way to describe it and Rob felt the same way as Jodie. I was so focused on the number I didn't realize how unhealthy I felt or looked - old and frail TBH. We got this!!

I was also a bag of bones when I reached my goal. I did stay there but added weight lifting to the mix which gradually bumped my weight up about 5 pounds. I could really see the difference in my body appearance after.

I was a bag o' bones when I got down into the 130s. When I look at photos of me at that weight I realize how unhealthy I looked. I look my best when I'm in the low- to mid-150s (if only I could get there again!). 130s are actually within a normal BMI range for me, but the PA at my clinic said that we'll always have more bone and muscle than a never-been-obese person, and that stuff adds weight on the scale, but it doesn't affect your outward appearance. You do lose a lot of it as you're losing weight (which isn't a bad thing necessarily since you needed a lot of infrastructure to hold up all that weight - and you no longer need it), but we don't lose ALL of it. So long way of saying, at 150 you probably looked similar to a 140-ish lb person (of the same height, etc) who'd never been obese.

It is interesting that the Bariatric Team set your weight goal. This should be something that you set and own. After all it is your body and you know how you feel at different weights. What is your weight goal that you set for yourself?

I was surprised when she said my goal was 150. I thought I would be lucky to get under 200 w/revision honestly with all the stories I'd heard. I don't remember the surgeon setting a specific goal. At first I just wanted to get under 200, then settled on 175. I think I will just see how I feel.

Just want to say...you're doing the right thing and you know it. Health, happiness, and sanity are so much more important than that number. Muscles are always good, too!
