Good morning, good morning! It's almost the weekend woohoo. I have a workout this morning and then a busy day. But in a good way. My job change really impacted my quality of life for the better! I have time to workout in the morning and no longer work late every single night so I have time for myself. I'm so happy I made the change.

There is one other thing I am so happy about and I'll share it here. As a (maybe 10 year?) veteran here, I have had all the phases of weight loss. "You're too gaunt". "You look great!" "You've filled out a bit". And now I'm at the "You're fat again" stage, which is really depressing. Not pre-WLS fat, but not happy with my body. So I found a medical practice that specializes in weight loss via a variety of medical and also group therapy methods. They put me on a compound pharmacy version of semiglatude (Wegovy) and since it's compounded it's about $250 for six weeks worth (Wegovy is $1300 a month since my insurance excludes it).

I'm 3 weeks in and had an appt yesterday. I lost 10 lbs, you guys! It really reduces the food chatter in my head and the cravings. I feel satiated on less food. It's how I imagine normal people feel! I was telling the NP that I'm nowhere near what I want to lose but I'm worried about what happens when I eventually stop it. Aside from building good habits now, she told me, "Many people will be on these long term because obesity is a DISEASE and this fights that disease". That honestly made me feel a bit better.

Anyway we all share our trials and tribulations so I want to be open about my journey. Let's see how this goes! I'm cautiously optimistic! I have a number I want to get to but I'm too ashamed to share! Maybe when I get there I will!

B: hard boiled egg mashed with cottage cheese

L: smoked whitefish and havarti cheese (same plate but not together!)

D: either a small but of leftover chicken parm or some impossible meat wkrh teriyaki and snow peas!

Great news, Emily!

Your reaction seems very similar to Mike's. I feel a lot more restriction on Ozempic, once I start eating, but my appetite is the about the same.

I could have written that and I'm living it now! It's not easy and I see how hard you are working. I know you will be successful!! My sister now works as a similar clinic and is on a medication like you described and is losing her regain. This is a lifetime battle and you're slaying the beast! Keep up the amazing work - you are worth it!! Don't be ashamed to share anything here, seriously. Some people on here are feeling the same way and you could help them by sharing. For me, putting it all out there was liberating and motivating! You got this!!

Your BMI is the same as mine. Wegovy's label says it's intended for people with a BMI over 30 - or over 27 if you have weight-related health issues (I don't...). Although I suppose there are some doctors who will prescribe it for people who don't quite meet those requirements. My PCP put me on phentermine for awhile - not sure if she'd be willing to prescribe Wegovy or not since I don't quite meet the "official" requirements - although I haven't considered going on it anyway, so...

Sadly I don't have that problem. I have a friend who won't qualify and did one via mail order for like $500 - I dunno, I'm not sure if picking it up at a nearby compounding pharmacy is much better than having a vial shipped but there are some stories out there about these mail order versions not being as accurate as a Wegovy pen. So I can't advise. I do think this **** should be piped into the water supply!
