Happy Good Morning! I had a great time in the desert and with the family. Yesterday just got too busy for me. I made it to my HIIT class for the first time since spraining the ligament in my ankle. Only needed a few modifications and chose to skip the "short loop" which is running down hill and around a neighborhood section and then back up the hill. I just stayed at the top and jogged in little circles. Then I just had time for a hot shower and off to get a crown down on my tooth. I haven't had real dental work in 15-20 years and it just makes me cringe. I loaded on a 1/4 Xanax before I went in and was reasonably relaxed and truly had no pain.

Accountability on food for yesterday was + skinny kettle corn. No other fails. Water only.

Today I have mapped out 30 minutes on the recumbent bike, 30 minutes on the treadmill, followed by a 50 minute aqua fit/zumba class. I need to stop at the butchers to find something protein for dinner and probably home for a hard nap. Nothing else exciting going on.

QoTD: I did not spend one penny from Wednesday through Monday. Not a one.

Menu today.

B: egg and 2 pieces of bacon (I love when I precook bacon and just need to grab a piece or two out of the bag and heat it next to the egg I'm frying

L: the last of the turkey. Maybe with some cottage cheese and 1 serving of popchips

D: protein TBD, but I'd like to make up a veggie roast sheet pan to use up the butternut squash, sweet potatoes and onion I have. Will make lots of leftovers and that will make me happy.

Peace everybody.

Good morning Jen and Menuers,

I remember flying to New Orleans for lunch one time in the 80's and getting back home at about 7:00 PM. My cousin worked for US airways he flew in the jump seat, and I flew first class. We went for the crawfi**** cost me like 35 bucks with a buddy pass. I miss those days. Hope everything goes smooth with your travels today.

I got my beef yesterday and a new fridge to make sure I had enough room. It worked out well. I cooked some up for Rudy this morning. He seemed happy. My dinner will be beef tonight.

G'morning all!

Thanks for starting us Jen! It sure is a wondrous time that you gotta go back and forth for a 4 hr meeting! I had high hopes during Covid that things would change, but I guess not.

I am up and that's all anybody can ask of me. Due to holding the shoulder in a certain way I now have neck and headache. Biofreeze to the rescue and Tylenol. Other than that it's a regular Tue: work, walk, PT, and a 45 min drive for a missing item for a craft.

QOD - I had plenty of stuff in my carts ready to click buy but none of them went on sale. So I had to make a decision and eliminate a few. They are mostly Xmas presents, nothing major. I wasn't very impressed with Black Friday or cyber Monday sales.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Turkey & Brussels sprout
  • Fage yogurt, epic chicken
  • Hb eggs & Tuna
  • E: 5 miles walk

Happy taco Tue!

Hopefully the bio freeze and Tylenol help and you can enjoy your beach walk!

Happy Tuesday

That is a lot of travel for a meeting. Too bad you could not do a virtual meeting instead. So much more convenient. Although I do think engagement is much better in person. Safe travels.

So, I think told you that I was having creamy purulent drainage from my surgical incision. Last Friday I had a CT Scan completed which showed a large pocket of fluid collection. Because it was a Friday and I weren't able to be scheduled for an outpatient placement of a drain to remove the abscess my surgeon decided to admit me to the hospital overnight to have the drain placed on Saturday (the Interventional Radiology does not do outpatient procedures on the weekends, only inpatients). Friday I was directly admitted to the hospital, Saturday I had the drain placed. Lots of thick purulent drainage came out. They sent a sample to the lab for a culture. Today the culture showed multiple bacteria. I will now be going on IV antibiotics at home for this issue. I think that this is a continuation of the fluid I had in my abdomen during my initial hospitalization. That is the status update. Still doing PT, home health nurse comes twice a week, nighttime IV nutrition. Slowly getting better and stronger but it is slower than I would like.

QOTD: I didn't really do any shopping. I looked but didn't purchase. DD was saying last night that she didn't feel like the sales were that good.
