You always get great Moon Pictures do they come from a Professional camera or your phone?

I switch between both, I have a bridge camera that I travel with and use if I'm planning to take lots of pictures. This one was just my phone though.

Mornin' All!

Thanksgiving went well. MIL was in a good mood, so we picked up my mother and brought her over there to have dessert with us. MIL's home health aide also came at 7:00 (she usually comes at 4:00, but we told her that wasn't necessary since we'd be there). We had about an hour overlap with her - she is just great! Really, really fun person. (MIL actually has three or four "regulars" - all women that she really likes and who are good workers - although it took awhile to get to that point. DH felt like her HR manager for awhile, contacting the agency when someone came whom MIL wasn't wild about so they could replace them - but everything seems to be fine now. She has a good crew whom she really likes).

anyway, ate WAY too much food, and I weighed 3 lbs more this morning than I did on Wednesday. Normally I wouldn't have weighed myself the day after Thanksgiving, but I have my annual physical exam this morning. I've never done this before, but I'm going to ask them NOT to weigh me unless they need to for a prescription or something (which I can't imagine I'd need - I have nothing going on with me). I'll tell them that I'm glad to tell them my usual weight - or I'd be glad to come in next week to have a medical asst weigh me. But this is NOT my normal weight, so they're going to think I gained weight when I actually haven't (btw - my PCP is fine with her older adult patients being in the "overweight" range, which I am now, so she won't care - but I care - plus again, the weight this morning isn't my norm, and it's over my normal fluctuation range, too).

QOTD: not at a store, but a few years ago one of the Einstein Bagel branches had a grand re-opening after a massive remodeling job. They advertised they were going to give the first 100 (?) people in line that morning coupons for a year's worth of free bagels and coffee (that is, every week - once a week - you'd get a free bagel and a cup of coffee - for a year). They opened at something like 6:00 or 7:00 AM, so DH dragged me there at about 4:00 AM so we'd be at the front of the line. It was January, and absolutely freezing. I kept thinking, what idiot would stand outside in the freezing cold for 2-3 hours just to get some stupid coupons for free bagels and coffee? Yet, there we were...

B: skyr with cranberry sauce, coffee with half & half

L: salad with chicken and Thai dressing

AS: Ratio yogurt, Danish bread with butter and jam

D: leftover turkey, a tiny bit of stuffing and sweet potatoes. (new recipe for me - liked it as much as my usual one, and it was much easier!)

have a great day, everyone!!

I hear einstein bagels are pretty good. Were you actually first in line? I met a whole family once who went to stores after dinner on Thanksgiving, found out where the black Friday lines would be and then left someone camping at the front of them all. They had a floating family member who would trade places with people for breaks. That's dedication...and something I would never do, personally.

my PCP is fine with her older adult patients being in the "overweight

It's not what she is fine with it is what you are fine with.

oh I totally agree. But I think what she was trying to say was that if I wanted to stay where I was, that was fine - it's not unhealthy for older adults to be "overweight" (not obese, but overweight). She did offer to prescribe phentermine if I wanted to lose a few lbs, though (which I did - and I took her up on the offer). So she wasn't against the idea of losing weight or trying to discourage me - I think just trying to reassure me that it was OK to stay where I was at, too.

I would just say no on the weight and move on. They can get it next time or not.

I forgot to mention that Ham Cat lived his very best life yesterday! he managed to get every single person drop copious amounts of turkey to him under the table and he did not stop. He ate waaaaay more than I did. His body is smaller but his pouch is a whole lot bigger, apparently!

He is still full and didn't even try to wake me up for breakfast --a first time for everything :)
