What's on your Tuesday Menu?
That table is probably groaning under the weight of all that food. Thanksgiving use to be my favorite holiday. Mostly because the focus was being together with friends and family, but the meal made it extra special. Since WLS though I have had to be careful on what I selected to eat. The bread stuffing is my overall favorite. Curious to see how it goes this year with the short bowel syndrome. I am not cooking. OUr friends will be making dinner and bringing it to my house to share with me and my family. So nice of them.
The Fairlife protein drinks are rather good. The strawberry banana Core is pretty good. I like to put them in the freezer so they get a really thick consistency, then eat with a spoon. It is like a treat.

Today started with a virtual visit with my PCP. I requested a GI Consult for treatment of SBS. Nerve conduction testing and an EMG for the drop foot. I have a CT Scan scheduled for Friday due to the purulent drainage from my abdominal wound. Making sure there isn't an abscess or other issue. Home health will be coming later today to take care of my abdominal wound. I may be able to send the wound vac back to the company! Hopefully. Otherwise, it is eating every 2 hours and my PT exercises as prescribed. I did get my hair cut and colored yesterday. It is nice to not have long and faded hair. I was worried about going since I have to be near a bathroom and sometimes it is urgent. But it all worked and I had no issues.
QOTD: The parade. Football is blah to me unless I am at the actual game but even then I really dont care who wins.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this, I hope it improves. Curious, I'm not sure if you are eating food regularly yet but can you tell the difference in your stomach size since your RNY was reversed?

I am eating small meals. They want me to do around 6-8 small meals thru the day. That is about every 2 hours. I am not hungry so forcing myself. This is how the GI tract starts to adapt to its new length. I still eat small volumes at this time. Still feels restricted.

I imagine your stomach is still healing so it may be a while before you hit your new normal, on top of all that you are going through. Eating every 2 hours when you're not hungry can't be easy. Hang in there.

Yay for supportive neighbors. Glad they're helping. Fingers crossed you can send the vac back and everything is copasetic. Your proactive approach is great! A day at a time.
