How do you cook your jicama? I have yet to try it?

I do not cook it I cut it in sticks and sprinkle Tajin on it. It is good if you like a little kick of chili and lime.

I do it the exact same way and eat it was a snack. Cut it in sticks like carrots or celery, taijin, and a couple drops of hot sauce. I like it for the crunch in dishes as it doesn't taste like much.

Well today is Halloween but growing up we knew it as Mom and Dad's anniversary. If dad was still alive today would have been 65 years. Mom will be sad today. I'll see if I can bring her dinner or something. Or maybe if I don't mention it, she won't realize it is her anniversary. She is easily fooled now that her memory is going. I make her the same dinner for Mother's Day every year and she ask what you making I say same thing as last year. Mom: I don't remember. Me: guess it will be a surprise again this year. LOL.

QOTD: George A Romero was a huge fan of these parts, so Night of the living dead (1968) and Dawn of the Dead (1978) were filmed here so there is a mall they won't tear down because of its history. Also, Silence of the Lambs was filmed in an old insane asylum called Western Sate that is about a mile from my home. They did knock all those buildings down so the catacombs where they kept Hannibal Lector are gone.

QOTD- We have our own Salem and it is scary as it's the state capitol and there are lots of scary people there. They had to pass a law to prevent the lawmakers from leaving town when they didn't want to vote on something. Now if they miss more than I believe 10 days they are unable to run for re-election. But of course they are suing over it. So my question is why is it only the Republicans that always leave town? It's only a part-time job and they only meet for a limited session, but since they are in the minority the way they avoid passing laws they don't like is just to not show up.

My cell phone is falling apart, my roommate got a new one and I've had phone envy but didn't want to spend the money. I filed a claim through my home warranty but I'm not sure if they will cover it. The back is coming off, the glue is no longer sticking. I'll find out in the next couple of days. I always have it in an otter box like cover and noticed it would no longer charge on the wireless charger, when I took the cover off I could see why.

My neighbors across the street have a 15' Jack Skelling. I've never seen the movie so I may do that tonight. Hoping for enough kids to get rid of the candy. So far the bag isn't opened and I haven't been tempted. I'm sure a few M&M's will be eaten.

Good morning and happy Halloween! We are in the middle of a Santa Ana, so the expected weather at trick or treating time is about 80. My son in law found something about a barfing skeleton on tik tok and made one and brought it to our front yard last night. It's pretty entertaining. I'll post a picture on Friday. We are expecting 11 for dinner and birthday celebrations and then group candy give away. It is a great neighborhood evening and every one will be out.

I was very good with food yesterday. I was able to get a few chores done, resting my foot in between. But the house is ready for action tonight. Today we have to get to Costco, and pick up a few cupcakes from the Cupcake Store. Need to always have 2 special treats on this evening to celebrate the new 12 year old and the not so new Roger who will be 64 on Thursday. I also have the appointment with the specialist to get my foot checked and need to make my part of the dinner for tonight, so today should fly by.

QoTD: We have the Whaley house in Old Town that is supposed to be haunted. Trust me, it's no Winchester House.
