Good morning. All this talk of sweaters, leaves and approaching winter and we are still stuck in summer here. It is still beach weather and I even got in the water this week but quickly got out. The gulf is starting to cool off and I like the water to be in the high 80?s. I am looking forward to a cool snap!

QOTD. I do wear hats, mostly wider brim ones for sun protection, I wear those even in the water. I have a few that hold up well getting wet and that I don?t mind losing if I go under.

Today I have a visit with the oncologist for blood work to check white cell count and b12 levels. I remain in remission but right now I am still go every 2 weeks because of my low white cells. After that my husband and I will go get our hair cut and then to Costco. We need coffee pods, protein shakes and will end up with a couple of hundred dollars worth of extras. I need to practice No! For that store.

Food today will be Turkey, I cooked a whole bird yesterday. After the breast meat is gone I will make bone broth and put all the dark meat in with a lot of veggies. I will have to freeze a lot but we love that soup so it takes a lot to get tired of it. Of course I made stuffing and will eat more than I should. That will be okay as I slipped 5 pounds below current weight when I caught this cold. Oncologist will be on my case about that today.

Costco pizza may be a step towards regaining the 5.

Oh I do love Costco pizza. I wore the heaviest clothes and a pair of my field construction boots and picked up 3 pounds with that, lol. Still got grief about the missing pounds. I remember doing the reverse before RNY surgery, wearing light weight stuff and taking off shoes to be "lighter". Ha!

Good morning, everybody!

Good luck with the knee!

Yesterday was just a wonderful day! It was 83 degrees at O'Hare, officially, and it was breezy, non-humid and all the trees were turning orange and yellow. We brought my car in for service in the morning. I am away for the next three weekends, so trying to knock off as many errands as possible during the weeks before the kids come home for Thanksgiving.

When my car was ready we went out to lunch. We had sushi and wine on a patio overlooking the river in downtown Naperville. Then back home for a little work and Crossfit. Last night we watched football and movies.

This morning, I was out lifting and home again for some late morning calls and Crossfit this afternoon. Happy hour tonight is going to be the dregs of all the bottles that we need to re-fill before the holidays. We will blend up some mangos and ice and I think that we can manage one Daiquiri and one Margarita to split between us.

QOTD: I do like hats, but probably don't need any more.

Breakfast: Bage

Lunch: Roast Beef

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all!

Good morning!

Best of luck to you, Grim. It's going to be a rough week for you, but life is going to be so much better real soon. My sweet next door neighbor had hers done in July and this week she is off in Napa wine tasting and craft shopping!

Yesterday I got in a 3 mile walk and made good food choices. I did sneak in a mini treat size bag of Skittles. Food choices and portions were right on track. Other than the walk, I don't think I left the house yesterday. Lots of reading and researching. Trying to decide which gym I want to join. Roger and I are going to go do a walk through one this afternoon, I think.

Today also brings a pedi, and I need to be go interviewed to see if my dogs are a good fit with a new overnight dog sitter for future trips. Pretty much we are not interviewing her (and luckily she comes highly recommended by Brown and Black dogs BFF -- best furry friends) but she is interviewing us to see if we meet her criteria and if our dogs are well enough behaved to be allowed to pay for the privilege of getting watched by her. Our house guests are still here but they are making no real impact on my life other than I got to read bedtime stories last night. And making dinner for our friend tonight. Easy day.

QoTD: I embrace the hat. Mostly for sun protection, though I would love to be stylish and pull off some of the hats that have been popular these last few years. Opposite of Amy, I have a tiny head and slippery thin hair and it's hard to get a hat that stays on and doesn't fall over my eyes.

Menu today:

B: turkey and string cheese roll ups

L: leftover roasted chicken, carrots and a couple baby potatoes

D: Huli Huli chicken, a little rice and Asian style bagged salad

Last of the photos from the trip coming in Hot! We first have the Grand Masters Palace in Rhodes, Greece. We next stopped in Alanya, Turkey. We took a ride on a very special chariot. We saw a lucky tree by the port. Next stop was Limassol, Cypress. The old medieval boat entry, town walls and remaining castle buildings were fabulous. We wandered over to the Old Port before we got back on the ship. The last picture is our final sail away. We were rerouted back to Istanbul due to the troubles in Gaza. They subbed a day at sea instead of our days in Jerusalem. But that was all right with us.

Peace everybody! I shall return to the standard photo Friday for a while!

Love the lucky tree! My sister brought me back an evil eye like those from Greece when she went years ago - I love it!
