My father grew up in Chicago and was a lifelong Cubs fan. It's too bad he had Alzheimer's (and it was getting pretty bad at that point) when they were in - and then won - the World Series in 2016. My brother and I would turn on the games on his TV when we were in his room at the nursing home - and tell him again and again that the Cubs were in the World Series. I hope he occasionally understood and was aware of what was going on. In his earlier days, he would have been dancing in the streets...

Good Morning! It sounds like it was a good day to take a job hunt break. I still can't even imagine making so many cookies. Em made it home safely but I'm not sure what time we will be heading to the coast today and enjoy the concert tonight. Most of my menu is unplanned except for breakfast today.

QOTD: Not really but John can definitely get emotionally wrapped up in an A's game.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Is he going to stick with being an As fan after they move, or will he root for another team?

I think he'll stay an A's fan. He is still holding out hope that they'll stay in CA somewhere.

QOTD- Unfortunately yes, especially when they do something stupid like have 3 chances to win or tie and blow them all. I'm talking to you Oregon, and the Seahawks weren't much better.

My brother is in town staying at my Moms. I will probably have dinner with them tomorrow, he has plans to meet a friend from High School tonight.

I got my covid and flu shots on Sunday, my arm is still a bit sore. And yesterday I wasn't feeling really great but I'm good today. My brother says he won't get another covid shot even though he had covid. He's trying to tell me over 100,000 people have died from the shots. I'm not sure what internet misinformation he is quoting, but it is so frustrating what people will believe. He said a pilot dropped dead when he was flying from the shot, I'm sure that would have made the actual news if it were true. Also if he hadn't attended a party without masks he wouldn't have gotten covid in the first place. Not going to go there with him, no politics...

It's a foggy gray day, better than yesterday it poured I told my brother he always picks the best weather to visit. I told him last week it was in the 80's I don't think he believes me.

Back to work.

Have a great day everyone!

I occasionally see these types of arguments on Quora when I'm on there (which isn't often lately - it was taking up too much of my time). They get these far right trolls on there sometimes who say inane things like this (about how only people who've gotten the COVID vaccines have died, etc). I'm not sure how they could believe such schlock because there are statistics out there. Their arguments make zero sense.

I used to work with a guy who told us that airlines would pair one born again pilot along with one non-saved pilot so that the pilot who was not-saved could fly the plane when the rapture happened and the born-again one was taken up.
